Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

I keep hearing we are going to lose to Seattle. Outside of the 2 playoff games we have only lost there once before and that was 10 years ago. The Skins have the head to head match up 9-4. This is not the team we lost to in the playoffs and there is no reason to think we can't win there.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

Yeah we can, if our offensive can get in gear. Only things that worry me are:

1. We have two west coast trips
2. We have the Giants on the schedule, however that'll be the first game after the year aniversary of Sean Taylor's death. (May he rest in peace.) Hopefully the team will be pumped up.
3. The Ravens defense is really stout

With all that said the Redskins always come on strong at the end of the year. In 05 with Brunell at the helm and last season with Todd Collins doing a superb job. It'll be interesting to see if the team does fall behind if Campbell can play Super Man and lead us to the playoffs. I predict 10 wins though.

Call me crazy but I really think we are going to beat the Giants. To be honest, I am really worried about this week's game. We are playing a scrappy team with nothing to lose in a venue we have gotten crushed in. Seattle, while I believe 2-8, has been playing better. This is the kind of game we have found a way to lose in the past (think Oakland in 05, Buffalo last year) putting ourselves in these must win-out situations at the end of seasons. I hope against hope that we take care of business this year.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

My head tells me we go 2-4 but I want to be wrong:

L: Seattle, NY, Baltimore, Philly. I think we lose to Seattle this weekend because Zorn is losing the tactical battle game after game and Holmgren will be in Zorn's head all game long. Actually think this game is going to be very ugly for us & raise a lot of eyebrows. NY and Baltimore are just better football teams. Philly plays very tough @ end of season regardless of record and I think by then we'll be long out of the playoff mix.

W: Cinci, SanFran. Cinci should be in the bag. SanFran is actually playing some tough football now and I highly doubt the game will mean dick to us... could go either way but I am loath to predict 1-5.

Either way it's time to start thinking seriously about next year. Like ya'll have said we wouldn't be competitive in the playoffs anyway because our offense is so inferior. My biggest concern is the work the FO has cut out for itself to infuse the o and d lines w/ young talent and to find/develop at least one more serious threat on offense. I just don't have faith Vinny or Danny or whoever the hell is really pulling the trigger during free agency and the draft.

I don't know if it's my will not to give up or what, but even on paper I can't predict the Skins not to go to the playoffs. Maybe it's a character defect I have, but I know in my heart we can win these games. There is nobody on our schedule that we cannot beat with the right play calling and execution. I cannot count the times the Skins have broke my heart but they have surprised me beyond belief also. I'm not going to pick specific games but I say we win at least 4 out of 6 and go to the playoffs.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

I see us beating Seattle, Cincy, and SF. Then I think we'll win 1 other, most likely philly. Of course, we have to play better, but I think Seattle is a good place to turn things around. Don't underestimate the Zorn factor. He was Mr. Seattle for a long time--it's going to be a big thing for him (whatever he says) and the team is going to be fired up to get him the W.

I have a feeling the gints are going to come out flat against us. We still may not win it, but I doubt it'll be a walkover. The Ravens will be tough as well. The double west coast thing is pretty brutal, but both those teams are not very good. Yes, I know, we're not very good right now either. But even decent football will win out west this year.

Just get it turned around. Obviously Seattle is a huge game. Also huge will be recovering if we lose back to back to the gints and ravens. My guess is some folks here will be ready to trade the team and fire the coach at that point. But it's not a bad schedule to get to 10-6, all things considered. Seattle, Cincy, and SF are winnable. Then it's just one more.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

2 losses and everyone is ready to start planning the off-season you say that because its a road game we will lose but we have only lost one game on the road this season against the giants, plus the Rams beat us at home. I see us going in there and man handling the Seahawks to the tune of 38-14 we score 2 4th quarter TDs on defense

The way we've played this year we may lose to Cincy and San Fran and beat the Ravens and Giants. I don't care how we get it as long as we get it. HAIL REDSKINS!!!

When I look at the Giants schedule I think, "Tough stretch of games, but they are better than all of these teams." Would I love them to finish 15-1? Of course, but would it shock me if they lose one or two down the stretch? No. The Skins game is one I could see them dropping and possibly Minnesota. The Giants are also A LOT better than Cleveland, but the Browns were better on that Monday Night.

If Eli throws us 3 picks like he did in Cleveland, that would be nice! I do think the gints may lose focus a bit as they look ahead to the playoffs. Also, we've looked bad on all the national night games we played, so it's easy to overlook us (maybe with reason, right now!). But if your D and run game continue to roll, ugh.

Re: 4-2 the rest of the way?

Don't count out our guys against the Giants. It's Sean's day and they'll be playing with a lot of emotion.

Remember when Wellington Mara died and the inferior (at that time) Giants team crushed us 35-0?

Sean Taylor could carry them to a win. He meant much more than an owner may have, he was on the field with them.
