I think that maybe the loss of some of the O line starters is begining to take it's toll.

I was close.

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants predictions

We're getting mighty big for our britches up in here. Might I remind everybody that the Dolphins took us to overtime and the Eagles could have scored a TD in the last minute against us to put them in position for a game tying 2-pointer.

Bottom line is we're 2-0, which is great. But are we THAT good? Failure on a third down or two in either of those games could have led to a loss. As always in the NFL, the line between winning and losing is not very big.

Redskins 24
Giants 20

A nailbiter again, we come out on top because our QB is more poised than theirs.

We also could have blown the Eagles out of the water if JC didn't overthrow Moss at the end. That game wasn't as close as the score.

You're right, people act as though we seriously "struggled" with the Eagles. Shoot, you add that one drop by Cooley and the score could have been more lopsided. I like what Sellers said, "McNabb played bad because we made him play bad"

Same thing with Miami. Smoot catches that ball, and we're not even talking OT. Truth is, this is a team that could be on the cusp of exploding offensively.

Or if Moss didn't have those drops against Miami, we could have extended some drives and blown them out.

People seem to only play the "what if" game when it comes to negatively looking at the Skins. Fact is we can play the what if game all day from all angles, fact is the Skins are 2-0 and that's all that really matters.

The "What if" game is ridiculous and really shouldn't be considered. Things could always have played out differently, but ultimately, they didn't. That same logic that catapults us to two blow out victories could be done conversely, and we're 0-2.

What if Chris Chambers, and Miami's new TE from Green Bay didn't have stone hands? What if Ronnie Brown had actually lived up to his #2 pick status and broken some tackles? What if Zach Thomas was actually still as good as he's hyped up to be and wasn't folded up every time he tried to tackle? The Skins could've lost that game.

What if "White Lightning" Kevin Curtis was actually fast enough to outrun our secondary or wasn't afraid of Laron Landry's thunderous hits? What if Donovan McNabb trusted his receivers more to make plays? What if Andy Reid decided to run Brian Westbrook down our throats? What if Lito Sheppard had played the game? What if Brian Dawkins didn't get laid out by Todd Yoder? Well, the Skins could've lost that game.

Now, wasn't that a waste of time? :tongue

Concur, you could "What IF" yourself to death over any game.

What if Cooley and Moss had capitalized?

What if McNabb had converted all of those bad throws?

Either way the outcome is affected.

It is the here and now that matters. I think the Redskins are starting a momentum push and that the Giants will start the season 0-4.

True, but you have to admit that all 2-0 teams are not equal. You have to take into account the strength of the opponent, the score, just how the game played out. "What if" can certainly play both ways, and honestly I think it HELPS to play it both ways when it comes to analyzing an upcoming game.

On a separate but related note, I had a chance to watch the Miami - Dallas game last night and up until the end of the 3rd quarter, into the 4th, it was very close, with Miami leading I think into the 3rd. It was honestly a very similar game to when we played Miami. A defensive struggle with a few scoring plays here and there. The real difference it seemed was that in the 4th quarter Dallas had almost the same scoring / turnover opportunities that we had, except they capitalized on them when we did not.

Re: Week 3: Redskins v Giants predictions

Redskins: 27 pts (3 Tds, 2 Field Goals) JC tosses 2 and Portis gets one
Giants: 19 pts (score 1 TD and 4 field goals) bend not break holds strong. (note- we need to defend the lob to the endzone...)

I'm nervous about our line, but I am really happy with Campbell's progress. Moss , ARE and Cooley will have big days. wins are the best source of confidence. The skins will keep their chip on their shoulder and dominate...

Folks, we haven't been offensively dominant against any team. It's time that happened.

Reskins 28
Giants 10

Randle El has 100 receiving yards for the 2nd time in 3 games. Moss scores on a 30+ yarder. Portis has 120 yards, Betts 75. Ball gets stuck in Rogers' face mask for our first INT. Cooley bangs each one of their cheerleaders.

The Giants are a mess and on the verge of imploding. All the Skins have to do is stay focused and they will win.
