Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread

I have Kentucky, UNC, OSU, and Louisville in my Final 4. Got two right today, but I think I'm going to lose out on the UNC bid. Not sure Marshall is going to play and I don't think they pull it off without him.

2012 NCAA tournament -- North Carolina Tar Heels' Kendall Marshall out vs. Kansas Jayhawks for Elite 8 game - ESPN

No Marshall most likely means no win for the Tarheels today.

Stupid Louisville. For the past several years I've picked them multiple times to be a Final Four team, if not National Champions.

This year, I decided I'd be disappointed no more and picked them to lose to Davidson in the 1st round....sigh

i had them losing in the 16 i think. But I agree, I always feel extorted to pick them, but this year they really made me pay for it after making that mistake.

Jeez, good call on that, did you pick those 4 from the start?

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread

Anyone else feel like this was the worst championship game in some time? And almost 930 on a Monday is painfull for me. Possibly the worst National Anthem ive ever heard before too, i didnt realize the NCAAM was going after the same demographic as an all ages show at Scenester's Bar & Grill.

But besides the last game, i felt like this was a great tournement. I won my office pool for the first time too...... all 25 dollars of it after my entry fee.....

NEXT YEAR!

ESPN pre-season poll:

Andy Katz: Indiana Hoosiers will continue moving up in 2012-13 - ESPN

I honestly think we are a little high for Drexel not to be included, or at least be on the cusp. Kind of hard to justify 2 CAA teams though.

Told you they wouldn't without Marshall. I saw that coming from a mile away. Barnes isn't the same player without Marshall. He can't create his shot that well, so I don't see him excelling at the next level. Marshall on the other hand should do very well.

Yes. UNC would have been in there had it not been for Marshall's injury. He is the catalyst for that team.

edit: Those were my picks for the Warpath NCAA Tourny bracket.

George Mason to stay in CAA | Richmond Times-Dispatch

Does VCU stay too? or does ODU take GMU place and VCU make the jump together?
