Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Honestly don't know why the idea of CH at MLB is viewed as a bad idea by some.

I'm pretty sure it would help in any free agent negotiations for it to be known that they have a plan for that position.

Big swing and miss by Ron with Davis pick. They claimed over and over he was the answer at MLB. And let’s not bring up Bostic at mlb who was a disaster. They have had multiple affordable options at mlb the last couple years. Hopefully they can find an option, teams can still cut someone and their still some players out there. Let’s hope we can fill this obvious hole in the d

For me it just seems like after two years they are still bumbling through the LB position, which is amazing given the fact that both RR and JDR are former LBs. You would think that the one position they would have squared away is the LB position. At least there will be continuity in the secondary - because between the secondary and the LBs last year - they were competing for the worst unit award. |

I don't think the learning curve would be that steep for CH at all. He knows the system, he's a smart dude, and he can play.

This! It really seems like they are saying, we don't want to pay a lot for the one of the vets out there in free agency, what can we do with what we already have?? They tried Apke at corner too...everyone remember that? F the compensatory pick, sign Wagner or someone willing to come here, and get better on defense!

Cole is smart and plays tough. But he just doesn’t have the physical tools to be that guy. He is always headed in the right direction but two steps too slow. If he is that guy we are in trouble. Imo he is a superb depth guy no matter where he is lining up. I wanted him replaced not promoted lol.

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
This what puzzles me. My up beat view on picking Davis last year was based on the idea that these guys know what they are doing. But going into their third year they have failed to draft or develop any LBs of note.

Bobby Wagner still unsigned means he wants to much $$. He's a damn good player but he's also on the downslide of his career. Fletcher was too and came in and was amazing but the odds of that are slim

He reportedly wants 1 year $11M. That's tough for anyone to take that big of a hit for a one year rental.

Big turnoff if having to burn another high pick at LB this upcoming draft.

Give me a stud, I don't care what position they play. If we draft another LB and he kicks ass we will all love him.

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Any consideration this may be smoke screening to temper the FA demands or convince others we won't draft MLB at #11? I mean if Devin Lloyd is still there when we pick would we be fools to not take him? Or we can take Kyle Hamilton and pick up an MLB in later rounds/after the draft? I'm not inclined to read too much into what Ron says before the draft.
