I know what your saying but I'm more afraid whoever we bring in would pick up Grossmans bad habit just watching him. I too am ready to cut bait with Grossman and Beck and quite possibly Crompton.

Bring in Flynn from FA, get a great QB in the draft, and either bring in a late round draft pick at QB also or get a UDFA and let them all battle it out.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

I'll say this: trading a bunch of picks to draft a 22 year old quarterback isn't mortgaging the future. It's betting the future on a single entity.

Trading a ton of picks for a guy like 26 year old Jay Cutler or 31 year old Carson Palmer is mortgaging the future. But if you are going to develop the asset yourself, its not the same thing as trying to trade a ton of draft value for a "finished product" who is already making a ton of money.

It's scenarios like the second that fans who don't get it dream up. It's that kind of "we need to get a quarterback" discussion that makes actually tries to separate having a quarterback from winning games. Trading a bunch of picks for a higher pick is just what you do if you don't like your positioning in a draft.

I agree, we need to clean house at the QB position. They don't need a crutch. Start fresh get some players who want to win.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Beck stick around until final cuts

Me neither, I wouldn't be surprised if Beck plays well during training camp.
I never understood why fans have such animosity towards Beck yet a lot of the same people actually like Rex.
*shrugs*

Beck is awful and gives us no chance to win. But he's a good guy and at least understands the system enough to hang around and help out until the end of the preseason

Thats a tidy little sound bite but its kinda empty, why do you feel Beck is awful?
And giving us no chance to win applies equally if not moreso to Grossman yet there isn't near the amount of animosity towards him.

I think its more accurate to say Beck played almost as poorly as Grossman yet under far worse circumstances.

Its like no one really wants to look at or discuss how Beck actually played or even his stats.

Even worse I kinda got the feeling Beck would be released and Grossman would be staying because he knows the system. Both are FA's so it will be interesting to see if either leave or get picked up by another team as a back up. That might decide who stays and who doesn't.

I'd prefer the house cleaning idea and both be let go.

I'd certainly like to see what Jonathan Crompton has. He couldn't do any worse than Beck or Grossman did.

That's why we should have given him a game action test drive in December, even just a quarter or a half of action.

Like TO would say. The Colts have 28 million reasons to let him go.
