put a note on it and put posters up if it really grinds your gears. a friend and i dramatically cut down on the number of naked dudes in the locker room with a poster campaign with simple slogans like "put a towel on", "is it that hard to wrap a towel around yourself?", and "disgusting"

How about leaving the work microwave a freaking disaster of a mess. I can't stand people that refuse to clean up after themselves.

I always offer free lunch to anyone who will scrap the sides of my work microwave and eat. I figure if that do it they will be puking for so long that they won't want the free lunch.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

I constantly clean up the kitchen. I'm the only man there full-time, so it's the women who are being complete slobs. I'm never going to eat at one of their houses if they're this messy at work.

As any married man knows, it's the women who are the real slobs of society. Men gets accused by women all of the time, but when you move in with a woman (or work with them), you discovered that bathrooms and kitchens are like nuclear disaster areas when a woman leaves it. Plus, there is hair EVERYWHERE!

Women leave more urine AND BLOOD on toilet seats than any men do. I'm always finding that kind of mess and I know I'm not doing it.

Hair spray on the mirrors, feminine products and wrappers on the floor, toilet paper on the floor...yeah, men are the slobs...SURE!

These same women I work with also like to walk around the office barefoot. Disgusting.

How about people that call you up and leave a message with 3 different phone numbers? You can call me on my cell, my work #, or my home #. Uh uh, leave me the best # to reach you at. I'm not writing down 3 different numbers and then calling you at all of them. Please.

This. And I think we've talked about it before, but overall, I just can't get down with voicemails period. It drives me nuts to come into my office where I have a message when it's just as easy to email me, where it comes to my laptop, desktop and phone.

I only leave a voicemail when it's a known issue with that specific person and returning emails.

Yeah and the people that call to ask if you've received their fax or email... makes me want to rage all over them.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

You want to see a nasty microwave you should see a friend of mine. He is a really nice guy but he is kind of messy and his wife is lazy as hell. Their microwave and kitchen is so nasty I will not eat anything from their house. Their whole house is pretty nasty but I just avoid his wife and going in their home.

Yup, and those same people will always be the first to complain about how much work they have to do. It's like no shit, you spend half your day trolling around the office, what do you expect?

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

Just a general overall question, but how do people feel about smoke breaks?

I know a few people here that easily take 1-2 hours a day smoking.

If I wanted to play a video game for that amount of time, I bet I'd be scoffed at.

it's actually one of the reasons i started smoking. i was waiting tables, all the smokers got 5 minute breaks here and there. when i wanted a 5 minute break to get some fresh air, i was told no. i went out and held a lit cigarette, bad news. when i worked in dc, although i was still smoking, i would only smoke during my lunch hour. i don't smoke anymore

So interesting. I mean, I'm of the opinion that if you wanna' do it, it's your funeral provided you don't infringe upon non-smokers. I just think that smokers are given a free pass at work (at least here).

Matty, definitely noticed that at my last job. I mean what do you say considering it's something that's widely accepted in the workplace?
