Re: Give me your best Terry Contract

At the end of the day what's he going to do? He either puts his pads on and plays here or he sits at home for a year. We all know he won't do that. If they can't get a deal done then we get him for one more year and then it's adios. I doubt they would franchise him.

I saw Ark Monk leave and play for the Jets, and then the damn Eagles. That shit hurt. So certainly, McLaurin leaving will not be a shocker.

I just threw up in my mouth. I had erased this from my memory.

Difference is Monk left after winning 3 superbowls in a decade, not when we were on the verge of getting back there after 30 years of stink. It is a shocker if he leaves.

Decent article on the situation: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ions-extension

That's actually a good article and does paint a more complete picture than some of the blurb surrounding this story. Based on that, I'd like to see a deal with c. 50-55M guaranteed over 2 years with a 3 or 4 year overall 28-30M APY. That should sate him and leave cap options down the line, plus have enough to re-sign Tunsil and possibly Deebo. It doesn't really do much within teh market as teh DK deal already did that. If he balls out for 2 years, turn some of year 3 and maybe even 4 into guaranteed money. Can't see him getting better on the open market/via trade. If he insists on c. 30M he can play out this year plus maybe one tagged, and he'll lose out.

We can't trade him because we won't get sufficient value. But you can't just cave and give him everything he wants.

He agreed to a 3 year contract. Willfully. So he is just going to have to lose tons of money if he wants. Then franchise him next year and do it all over again. He has zero leverage. This is Jayden's team now. If he wants to sit out, that's his choice.

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract

Ultimately time isn't on Terry's side. If he and his agent don't understand that and try to play the year out they will end up costing him upwards of 10m and if he gets hurt or slows down this year it could be even more.
I hope the team offers him a fair deal (28-30 aay with guarantees around 54-60) but Terry has to be the one to move majorly on his expectations.

Our team has zero leverage in a trade to other teams. And Terry has very limited leverage against us. Can't make a shitty trade because a guy under contract is holding out. So Terry has some tough decisions to make.

I do hope they are offering him somewhere around 30m AAV. But in the Harris/Peters era things alright rightfully close to the vest.

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract

I haven’t listened to Sheehan, but saw on X that $23 mill per year is the teams offer. I have a really hard time thinking that’s true.

Reports out of camp is Terry not on the field is having a real impact.

Let’s offer the 30 per and get this done. I’ve had enough of this.

If we had a better running game, I’d worry much less…but the team chose not to add talent there on the offseason.

I’d say we are a borderline to make the playoffs this year if he would use the nuclear option to sit or if he was traded

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract

nfl's top 100 players probably has terry at #10 or 11 at WR (#5WR, but top 40 not revealed yet). madden has him as the #6 rated WR.

you know, the stats that matter.

Give me your best Terry Contract

Honestly, if the offer is 23, and I have a hard time imagining it is, we need to get real - he’s absolutely worth more than that given the wr market.

You know what Terry contract I want? A signed one. AP won’t break the bank so if a deal gets done, I’m sure it will work for the team.

Keim is reporting most AP will go up to is 28 million annually. McLaurin not interested. Stalemate continues. Highly frustrating situation. Honestly think Terry needs to look at the entire picture. His age and being a 1,000 yd receiver instead of elite numbers (1,300 plus consistently) are doing him no favors here. He needs to take AP's best offer now. Think it will cost him money long term if he doesn't.

Re: Give me your best Terry Contract

Let him play out his contract this year and franchise him next year. He would be dumb to turn down a competitive offer if it’s around the $30m/year range.
