Yes 12 teams make it, but this is my point. List ten teams better than us if you disagree. Like i said i bet we beat one of them. Only Houston and Detroit are in the conversation as far as teams that even qualify for the conversation that we did not beat.

That said, I still agree we're top 10. I got:

1) Seattle
2) New England
3) Dallas
4) Denver
5) Oakland
6) KC
7) Redskins
8) Steelers
9) Lions
10) Falcons
11) Giants
12) Cardinals
13) Eagles

Re: Are we a top 10 team?

Another rant, I've kinda had it with the Cousins/INT thing. In his last 19 games he's thrown 33 TDs and 10 INTs. He's got 7 this year, well less than 1 per game. Can we please drop this already?

Re: Are we a top 10 team?

12. Washington Redskins (73.5)
Trent Williams has been the league’s best left tackle this season, and even moonlighted successfully inside at guard when injury forced a reshuffle on the line. RT Morgan Moses and RG Brandon Scherff on the right side have been impressive, but Shawn Lauvao has been an issue at left guard. Lauvao has surrendered 24 total QB pressures so far this season, fourth-most among guards. Spencer Long hasn’t been anything special in the middle, but he does at least represent a huge upgrade over their play at the position a year ago, ranking 22nd in PFF grade, rather than 30th and 36th, as the Redskins centers did in 2015.

I thought we should be higher but PFF does have a point ... we are weak at LG and average at C. They make no mention of only giving up 11 or so sacks so far this year.

Another one of my dumb ideas:

When TW comes back, leave Nsekhe at LT and move TW to LG. That is, if Nsekhe does as well in the next three games as he did last week. Then we would have a truly bad-ass OL.

Feel free to fire away but, before you do, just imagine the inside running game we would have with that lineup.

We wouldnt have to imagine, we saw it. I looked for some video of Trent at guard but found this article that I didnt see before, pretty funny stuff.

“I saw Ty [Nsekhe] coming in so I was like, 'We’ve got ourselves a 6-foot-8 left guard. Alright, we’re going to make it happen,’” Williams said he first thought when the injury occurred. “Then he pointed to me and said, ‘Guard.’ And I was like, ‘What? No, not me.’ He said, ‘Yeah, coach said go to guard.’ I didn’t have much time to debate about it. I just had to do it."

Despite Williams’ experience, making the mid-game change to a new position is a huge adjustment. He was initially a bit reluctant to take on the spot.

“There was no discussion,” Williams said. “I wanted a little debate. I wanted to at least ask a couple questions, but it was a, ‘Hey you’re at left guard. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. We don’t have anybody else. … I only had 30 second to think about it and I just had to go (with) the flow.”

Despite Never Playing Guard In His Life, Trent Williams Impressed

I would wait until playoffs or must win situation.
We did something similar back in the day with Joe Jacoby late in his career.
We had a very menacing left side of Jim Lachey at LT and Joe Jacoby at LG. It was amazing. We also had Darrel Green returning punts.

A lot of credit to the low sack number has to go to how quickly Cousins gets the ball out. When he's on rhythm nobody gets close.

Yup, and his ability to read the D pre-snap and correctly know where pressure is coming from and how much time he has. He makes it look easy.

Re: Are we a top 10 team?

I'll stick with the conventional wisdom that you want your best lineman at left tackle. Especially a guy with Trent's athleticism. What he does is pretty unique.

Re: Are we a top 10 team?

Speaking of O lines ... Packers are pretty banged up.

Starting LT Bakhtiari has been limited in practice all week and seems to be playing injured for weeks now.

Starting guard TJ Lang is DNP and will probably be out on Sunday.

Starting C Tretter has been DNP this week and has missed the past few weeks.

Packers.com | Injury Report

Lots of doom and gloom over at the Packers board. Fans calling for Mike McCarthy are real. First post of their gameday thread:

"At this point I just hope we don't get embarrassed on National television."

"I hope MM is playing on to score at least 40 points. I wouldnt even be mad if we lose I would be pissed if TT or MM isnt gone at the end of this season."

"I'm at the point where I don't care if we lose as long as it results in McCarthy and/or Capers being fired within the next few months."

Reading that, I sort of feel for the Packers fans because it seems like they are now going through what most of us have went through during times here in Washington. I remember from seasons past when we would be up against teams like New England, the hope was that we wouldn't be humiliated on a national stage. In fact I remember Joe Gibbs stating plainly that New England was the toughest team that he had ever faced in his career.
