I like Crutchfield but holy crap they're expensive. So hard when you can buy the same products for a third the price (and you know what to do with them).

Yah...they are on the higher side of the price curve. BUT, if you're not sure what you need.....it will be money well spent.
I'm getting ready to do a ground up install on a restoration I have and I will likely give them my business......

You get what you pay for. If ever company ran like Crutchfield I gladly give them my business.

Honestly if Best Buy wants to stay in business they should take a hard look at Crutchfield's customer service. If BB had CF's customer service I probably actually go there (BB).

I'm like you and have no problem paying more for good service. Best Buy lost my business over a $50 DVD player I purchased for my daughter to take to school. By the time she got back home it was over their 30 day or 60 day return policy and they would not exchange it and it had never worked.

i know this isn't the point you are making, but next time, buy another of the same, then return the one that doesn't work w the newer receipt.

It was only $50 and I would not give them the satisfaction of buying anything else from that place. I feel better knowing I'm a very, very small part of why they are going out of business.

Best Buy is a joke, there's a reason why they're going down the toilet.

Re: Car Audio

Also, if you get an aftermarket unit, get one of these:

Alpine KTP-445U "Power Pack" Upgrade any car radio to 45 watts RMS X 4 at Crutchfield.com

This is HUGE for sound quality. It's basically a small amp that will fit in your dash. I have a buddy who just did this and a head unit and his stock speakers sounded amazing.

yeah, i like using windows media player, it's really easy.

put the cd in, open wmp, it will recognize the cd, just click rip*

*you can set up your preferences before you rip; mp3 as opposed to wma, bit rate, all that jazz.
