Week 1 Around the League

I think McCarthy is going to be a bust.

Re: Week 1 Around the League

Minnesota with a huge opening MNF victory in McCarthy's debut. JJ showed stones after throwing a pick 6 to open up the 2nd half. Another good game. Cannot remember a qb making a comeback like this in their very first game especially on the road.

Their 2nd to last drive he was noticeably inaccurate. He missed DJ Moore on a easy td. Not cool under pressure. JJ just wins. Kid lost 1 game as a starter at Michigan. He also ran a 4.48. Loved the end of this game.

Seriously this. Bears didn’t do their due diligence.

Also, I think JJ gonna be decent.

Re: Week 1 Around the League

The major problem Caleb Williams (and his dad) have now is they have no excuses. No one to blame

You can’t sell the brand to people outside of football and blame the team, the coach, the program, etc.like have done in the past at USC and last year.

You got the top Offensive mind at HC, ooooooodles of receiver talent at WR/TE, and a better Oline with the likes Joe Thuney and others.

Poor Caleb, has no one to blame except the nail polish choices. Will that be next?

Our misfortune finally turned around. Daniels > Caleb. Honestly no qb has JD5's complete package: film study/dedication, serious speed and a great runner, quick release, great passer overall with a super deep ball, closer, etc. He is the utter complete package. He may miss a pass or so every game, but the kid just flat out delivers. This offense has weapons galore now. Adding Deebo, Tunsil, and JCM is going to help a ton.

Nah, he will be a decent QB or better. O'Connell is QB whisperer.

Indeed. Perhaps the rumors that we would still have drafted JD over Caleb if he was available is true.

Re: Week 1 Around the League

Caleb has a ton of talent but something is just off w/him. I know I bashed him while in college for his nails and crying to mommie, but he doesn't pass the eye test for the NFL game. He's too Helter Skelter. He can make a really great play and then miss the easiest one. That probably drives Ben Johnson nuts as he just wants a system QB like Goff.

He doesn't play well under pressure. He's also highly expressive for the position. He shows his stress and can be overly celebratory. His maturity has been questioned, and he has phases of inaccurate passes. But hey he has a great arm and can throw at different angles. Commanders are incredibly fortunate the Bears drafted him.

Any other bigtime player and this would be big news. Hill is about the only one where it's not big news. It's sadly predictable. He has a terrible history of this. Hope Goodell takes significant action if these allegations prove correct.
