Exactly,thank you.

Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?

Why would I stop wearing Skins gear?

When I wear it now it’s a general fuck you, this is my team and fuck yours. And likewise it’s a salute to other Skins fans to say hey this is our team.

The new stuff will probably be awesome, but the old stuff to me will gain even more importance in terms of fandom. I respect that more imo.

If the underlying meaning of the question is...should you not wear Skins brand stuff. Fuck you and die is my answer and go cry some more about something as irrelevant as a sports team name.

So by that notion the Brooklyn Ni”*ers would be acceptable as long as it was around 100 years ago? Because it is just a sports team name.

Well 90% of the race that the team name you so eloquently displayed would be describing would not be ok or honored by it, unlike the Redskins.

There is absolutely zero evidence that a majority of Native Americans is for or against it. That being said we unequivocally know that there are those that are against it. How many Native Americans have you actually asked?

I'm gonna defer to Mark Moseley on this one.

I'm sure he's got some bias on the issue too but if he's done as much outreach as the article implies and met so many Native Americans who aren't offended by the name, that's good enough for me.

The amount of lobbing about 10 pebbles into the Mississippi, on my own... Just cuz I know them... But there was that poll that wa conducted that's where the 90% in 2019 came from. To each their own in regards to what that poll shows.

The Washington Post poll also had a question on how they felt about the Redskins name - Pride came out on top and was a majority. I think that is clear evidence that the majority were for it. Seems to me those that wanted, and forced the name change refuse to listen to Native Americans (certainly the vast majority of them). How will that look in a hundred years? Could end up being the same way those that forced Native American children "for their own good" into State schools a 100 plus years ago, are seen today.

How about you just think about and answer the question and stop acting oblivious just so you can wear your jersey. Lol

Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?

There will be Redskins gear at the stadium FOREVER, I also predict HTTR will be sung in protest and remembrance too. Any attempt to stop it will only hurt the "new" team.

Re: Will You Still Wear Your Skins Gear After?

All my shirts have the logo but don't actually say Redskins. I will keep rocking my gear. I'll buy new gear too. I'll wear either of them depending on the mood, the outfit, and the laundry situation.

Note - A small % of name changers that finally got their way due to the current climate in the country does not make everyone that wears a Redskins shirt now a racist. That makes no sense. If you ever wore a Skins shirt before, you can, with all due respect, STFU about me wearing my shirts still if I want to. You are not morally superior because you jumped on the bandwagon.

Agreed!

Probably wont wear anything with "redskins" on it ...
Sorry but that reasoning makes no sense. See sdskinsfan's post above for why.

You've supported the Redskins, paid the Redskins for merch...but don't want to wear their name? Sounds like someone who would wear a Glock shirt to look cool but refuses to actually own a gun.

Take a stand on either side, don't sit on the fence.

I used to passively support the name "redskins" touting the Wash Po survey.

Last couple years I have looked into the term "redskins" and have come to my own opinion that the term was originally used by NA as a pseudo umbrella for discussion with the early colonialists. But over time, the term evolved into a slur.

I think the logo, designed by Wetzel of the Blackfeet tribe, was done with respect. I view the name "redskins" as a slur when known racist George Marshall founded the team.

This is my own personal opinion and thoughts that I have come to after reading a lot from both sides. I personally am not going to tell another person what to do or think.
