This doesn't change anything. They still need to find a franchise QB for the long term but do we expect anyone to start day 1? You know what a young QB needs? WRs and TEs! This team seriously needs some juice at the skill positions. Our WRs aren't giving us any YAC. |

I personally wouldn’t mind seeing teddy bridgewater and drafting a young guy.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
I'd take Carr, he's better than he looks this yr. I don't see them trading him though

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Bringing in a guy like Carr or even Flacco won't happen w/ Smith's contract. It really leaves the team handcuffed and stuck w/ him. Maybe some of the cap guys can explain it but you can't bring in another vet like the ones I mentioned. That is why a rookie makes way more sense. And even if Colt totally balls out he would I assume want starter money going into next year. So many possibilities that are up in the air.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Whether Smith got hurt or not, whether Colt plays well or not, we simply need to draft a QB in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Period.
We'll need to keep 3 on the roster. Always have a young QB in the building developing. IMO should have kept Sudfeld, especially w/ the Cousins situation. Another fuck up by the FO. For the pro Smith crowd, what the hell did you see that tells you that he's worthy of being a starter going forward? He was hesitant and jumpy in the pocket. The offense is too stagnant and we have to go on long drives to score. No big play ability at all. We're too easy to defend, no one respects his arm. He can be a pricey backup for a couple years. And last, Bruce needs to be fired ASAP. He has mismanaged the QB's, starting w/ McNabb, Rg3, Cousins and now Smith. Move on from him now please. |

Bruce is awful at QB evaluations. That is painfully obvious.

Experienced journeyman, double down on the supporting cast, defense and O Line. And keep taking shots with picks. Drafting qb's is an absolute crap shoot. Keep throwing darts at the dart board but don't bet the farm unless it's an Andrew Luck type. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Keep it in the family Brett Rypien, Mark's nephew.

Jacksonville made it to the AFC championship with Blake Bortles, a great RB, and defense. I agree with you though, there are two types of teams. Teams with good qb's and teams looking for a qb. There are two main competing schools of thought, mortgage the farm for a guy (RG3) or stay medium while searching and building. I'm for the latter just because drafting Qb's is such a crap shoot.
