It's not just roster moves though: how many announcers this year have called out the team for the complete lack of a hurry-up offense? It seems like when we finally do go no huddle late it games we've already wasted too much time.

re: Redskins Sign WR David Anderson/Cut WR Donte Stallworth & DT Darrion Scott
Stallworth served the exact same purpose Galloway did last year. If you ask Armstrong and Austin last year they'll tell you Galloway was a huge help for them in learning the WR position and adjusting to life in the NFL. I'm sure Paul and Hankerson would say the same about Donte.
I think Donte can still play (though not if there's no QB) and don't believe he was necessarily impeding of Paul and Hankerson. Meaning if Donte wasn't here, there probably would have been some other player/reason not play those two until now. Still, he had become unneccessary and it's the right move to let him go.

re: Redskins Sign WR David Anderson/Cut WR Donte Stallworth & DT Darrion Scott
Two points:
1. "He was in Houston with Kyle so he knows the offense..." Please remember that Rex Grossman was also in Houston with Kyle and he also "knew the offense". How'd that work out...? 2. The reason the Redskins need 8 WRs on the roster is that only 1 of them is any good - - and he's injured. Because the Redskins have 8 WRs on the roster, they did not have the option to keep sufficient numbers of offensive linemen that they need/needed to plug into the lineup. I'd rather see the Redskins sign an offensive guard and release a WR.

re: Redskins Sign WR David Anderson/Cut WR Donte Stallworth & DT Darrion Scott
One more point. The day the Skins signed Stallworth, Doc Walker had him on the radio show. Walker went nuts about how Stallworth was a "baller" and someone who would "open the field" and who would make defenses game plan to stop him. Walker said that Stallworth was a stud.
Add Donte Stallworth to an ever-growing list of guys that come to DC with Doc Walker slobbering all over them and who leave town with all the fans just shrugging their shoulders and wondering why it took so long. Previous examples: Juwann HowardOh and don't forget his fawning all over Joe Gibbs' return along with Joe Bugel and now Mike Shanahan...

So Stallworth was good enough to help the younger guys get on the field, but not good enough to get onto the field himself? Sounds like he needs to be a WR coach or next time, just let Keenan McCardell go instead.

The world needs more people like Donte Stallworth (and yeah I'm not forgetting the manslaughter charge), but the Redskins don't really need more people like him

Moss is hurt and Paul is out for a couple of weeks, so that's two receivers down. I think people tend to forget that your lower level WRs on a roster also tend to play on special teams. Lower lever OL tend to sit on the bench or sit inactive until needed. So a) WRs are more likely to be added to an active roster than OL midseason because of the versatility they offer and b) What OL are out there

Anderson has future job prospects in mind because of what SS said, he can continue to be active on game day long past the day when he is no longer a viable third receiver. Ray Brown/Sean Locklear types aside, when a vet OL is no longer good enough to start given 160 positions on the OL weekly in the NFL, I think he's more likely to hang it up than the David Anderson type is.

Re: Updated Title: Redskins Add DT Balmer/WR Anderson; Cut Stallworth/Scott
New thread title. Kentwan Balmer (who I'd mentioned a few weeks back had been here for a visit) has been signed

Ironic to considering he was a target for us back in the 08 draft.
