Re: Predict the Opening Day Roster

Isn't Lorenzo Alexander going back to being a DT this year?

I thought his stint as an OL a stopgap solution for only last year?

Re: Predict the Opening Day Roster

QB: Jason Campbell, Todd Collins, Colt Brennan

RB: Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Marcus Mason

FB: Mike Sellers

TE: Chris Cooley, Fred Davis, Todd Yoder

WR: Santana Moss, Antwaan Randle El, Malcolm Kelly, Devin Thomas, Anthony Mix, Jerome Mathis

OL: Chris Samuels, Pete Kendall, Casey Rabach, Randy Thomas, Jon Jansen, Lorenzo Alexander, Chad Rinehart, Stephen Heyer, Jason Fabini, Kerry Brown

K: Shaun Suisham

DL: Phillip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin, Anthony Montgomery, Andre Carter, Alex Buzbee, Demetric Evans, Chris Wilson, Kedrick Golston

CB: Shawn Springs, Fred Smoot, Leigh Torrence, Justin Tryon, Byron Westbrook

S: Reed Doughty, LaRon Landry, Vernon Fox, Chris Horton, Kareem Moore

LB: Rocky McIntosh, London Fletcher, Marcus Washington, HB Blades, Curtis Gatewood, Khary Campbell

P: Durant Brooks

LS: Ethan Albright

I think Mathis makes the team and Cartwright & Thrash get cut. At this point Rock is a special teams player, not even on the radar as a RB and Thrash was a Gibbs guy and is up there in years. It's time for Mason, Westbrook and Mix to become the ST studs. Mathis is a Pro Bowler with blazing speed (assuming he's healthy) so he will be the primary KR and backup ARE at PR.

I thought Smith recently said that Rock is his kick returner next year (and not the guy from the Texans).

don't forget about Devin Thomas as KR. Depending on how he progresses in camp they may use him in that role. If they're willing (realizing you have a new head coach who might change things) to play ARE at starting wr & return punts, they might be willing to do the same w/the rookie if he can contribute immediately as a kr.

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan
RB: Portis, Betts, Cartwright
FB: Sellers, Schmitt
TE: Cooley, F Davis, Yoder
WR: Moss, Randle-El, D Thomas, M Kelly, A Mix
OL: Samuels, Jansen, Thomas, Kendall, Rabach, Rinehart, Fabini, Heyer, L Alexander

DE: Carter, Daniels, C Wilson, D Evans, Dorian Smith
DT: Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Boschetti
LB: Fletcher, Washington, McIntosh, Blades, K Campbell, Sinclair, Godfrey or Colvin
CB: Springs, Smoot, Tryon, L Torrence, Westbrook
S: Landry, Doughty, Moore, Horton
K: Suisham
P: D Brooks
LS: Red Snapper

Rogers will be on the PUP list for the first 6 weeks then he will take Westbrooks spot. Thrash gets cut unfortunately in favor of Mix who can do everything he can but is younger and can be a viable receving threat. Schmitt makes it as Sellers backup. We sign a veteran LB before camp. Horton and Moore both make it ahead of Fox. We have 9 picks make the team, the only one who doesn't is the DEnd we drafted, he will make the practice squad.

I seriously doubt Kareem Moore is going to be playing CB. Considering the fact that we brought him in as a safety, plus he would be quite a load playing CB at 213 lbs.

Re: Predict the Opening Day Roster

Hey GTripp who is Joe Teamer? He doesn't seem to exist yet you have him making the LB corps?

Otherwise I think your roster will be very accurate when all is said and done. Except of course for the mystery player.

I think he just means some generic team guy (probably a teams guy). Like John Doe

This isn't necessarily who you want to make the opening day roster, just who you think will make it. You can add practice squad players if you want. I didn't (though I am suspecting guys like Tryon, Mason, and Jackson make that roster)

Here's my roster (some surprises, but that always happens with final rosters)

QB: Jason Campbell, Todd Collins, Colt Brennan

RB: Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright, Eric Shelton

FB: Mike Sellers

TE: Fred Davis, Chris Cooley, Todd Yoder

WR: Santana Moss, Antwaan Randle El, Malcolm Kelly, Devin Thomas, Anthony Mix, Burl Toler

OL: Chris Samuels, Pete Kendall, Casey Rabach, Randy Thomas, Jon Jansen, Lorenzo Alexander, Chad Rinehart, Stephen Heyer, Jason Fabini

K: Shaun Suisham

DL: Phillip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin, Anthony Montgomery, Andre Carter, Alex Buzbee, Demetric Evans, Chris Wilson, Matthias Askew, Kedrick Golston

CB: Shawn Springs, Fred Smoot, Leigh Torrence, Cedrick Holt, Byron Westbrook

S: Reed Doughty, LaRon Landry, Vernon Fox, Chris Horton

LB: Rocky McIntosh, London Fletcher, Marcus Washington, HB Blades, Curtis Gatewood, Khary Campbell

P: Durant Brooks

Re: Predict the Opening Day Roster

definately see mathis taking the spot of mix/thrash. We just drafted 2 big stud Wr's so I dont really see the need to develop mix... there is obviously something in his game that keeps him off the field dispite his physical talents

Good point Ecupirate08. I think we're forgetting about Mathis.
