Re: What movie are you watching?

Sunshine sucked! A story with potential given to folks who lack talent and vision is a recipe for disaster. And the movie industry wonders why they aren't making as much as they used to.

Re: What movie are you watching?

Right now I'm watching Inside Man on HBO. So far it's been a good movie, i'd recommend seeing it.

Saw Simpsons on Saturday. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit surreal at times to see those characters on the big screen.

Re: Getting ready for an awesome year of movies

kinda let this thread slip after all the work put into wrangling up those trailers but BSB's thread (http://www.redskinswarpath.com/parki...-watching.html) reminded me about it.
Theater wise:

Simpson's Movie: One of the funniest movies I've seen in a couple years for me. Had a lot of what made the show great about 5 or so years ago and then some with some comedic freedom allowed by the PG-13 rating. I think one of the coolest parts of the movie was during the credits where it showed who did the voices for which characters. All I got to say is Hank Azaria is the man.

Bourne Ultimatum: One of the best action flicks in the last decade. I love James Bond, but Bourne would crush him. It was a nice wrap up to the series as Matt Damon has said he doesn't wish to continue playing the character. The movie also had one of the sweetest fight scenes and two of the coolest chase scenes in a movie in a while.

Can't wait to see Rush Hour 3 and Stardust next week and then Superbad, War, and Halloween later this month.

DVD wise:

The super gianormous release of recent weeks is of course 300. Anyone and everyone that hasn't seen this movie should be ashamed of yourselves. Although it doesn't have the strongest plot ever, the work put into the movie by the actors/actresses and the crew overcomes that one pothole to make one of the best action movies of all time. Anyone else lucky enough to have an HD-DVD player can actually have a feature turned on that shows in a small box in the corner, what was actually filmed in front of the blue screen to see the incredible amount of work that went into bringing the story to life.

Anyone who is a fan of Shaun of the Dead, I highly recommend atleast checking out Hot Fuzz. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are funny as hell again in this spoof on action movies with awesome co-stars like Timothy Dalton.

I'm looking forward to watching Disturbia and the special edition release of Flash Gordon this week and then Labyrinth special edition and ATHF next week.

and for anyone who didn't follow the San Diego Comic-Con coverage or just movie news in general here are a couple new trailers and teasers:

Batman: The Dark Knight= The Dark Knight Teaser Online! - ComingSoon.net
Beowulf= http://downloads.paramount.com/mp/be...iler_1_lrg.mov
National Treasure: Book of Secrets= Apple - Trailers - National Treasure: Book Of Secrets
No Country for Old Men= Apple - Trailers - No Country For Old Men - Trailer
Hitman= Apple - Trailers - Hitman - Trailer A
3:10 to Yuma= Apple - Trailers - 3:10 to Yuma
Shoot 'Em Up= Apple - Trailers - Shoot 'Em Up
10,000 BC= Apple - Trailers - 10,000 B.C. - Trailer 1
Get Smart= Apple - Trailers - Get Smart - Trailer 1
30 Days of Night= Apple - Trailers - 30 Days of Night

We Own the Night= We Own the Night trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies
Lions for Lambs= Lions for Lambs trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies
American Gangster= Apple - Trailers - Universal Pictures - American Gangster

and if u can find the footage that Marvel had pulled off the net, the Iron Man trailer is sweet as hell with Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" song playing in the background.

Was it better than the 2nd one? I didn't care for #2 as much as I like #1.

I thought the same thing, but I still loved it.
I laughed my ass off when Homer tried to fall through the sandbox and gave everyone the finger with both hands.

Re: What movie are you watching?

I think I give the slight edge to Bourne Identity over Bourne Ultimatum. Only because Identity was the one that started it all. But it's extremely close.

Both were better than Bourne Supremacy.

American Gangster is a must see for me I think. Denzel and Crowe. Two of the best right there.

We Own the Night (another Mark Cuban movie) looks like it might be good as well.

Anyhow I'm going to merge this BSB's thread

That's good to know...I'm going to have to go see it now. I wasn't going to, I was going to wait until it came out on video.

Oh definitely don't wait for it to come out on video. This is as close to a must-see movie as there is.

I'm really shocked to hear so many people say this. I am certainly going to go see it now.
It's so hard to see a the third of any movie succeed.

Would you recommend we rewatch the rest of them before this one?

I spent the first 10 minutes of the movie either thinking this same thing or "shushing" the rowdy teens sitting behind me (I've turned into an old man). The animation was just different enough from the TV show that it seemed really strange to me, maybe it was the shadows or something.

On a different note, I can't wait to see the Bourne Ultimatum.

Well I watched Bourne Identity several times this past week on TNT (or maybe it was USA) and then just before going to the movies I quickly reviewed the Bourne Supremacy plot summary on Wikipedia.

So, no you don't need to see both. Just take a quick refresher on the previous plots and characters. It definitely helps to know the story line. A bunch of us from work went and one guy who went knew nothing of the first two movies. Needless to say he didn't enjoy the movie nearly as much as the rest of us.

You know what I'd like to know? Shouldn't they have given Tracey Ullman some love in this movie? The fact that she took a couple of minutes out of her own show 20 years ago to expose The Simpsons to the world seems to be forgotten too often. I don't know what kind of relationship the Simpsons producers have with Ullman, but a little props would have been nice.

I thought the second one was better than the first. I'm looking foward to Ultimatum, I need to get the wife up to speed on the first two before going.
