Re: Chris Cooley Released

Whatever happens he'll be one the all time great Redskins and probably retire as one.

Exactly. Of all the players he seemed like a safe bet jersey to purchase. Now no one is safe and there's not a jersey worth purchasing if we have to buy a new one every yr. Waaaaay too much money for a piece of cloth just for one or two yrs.

Either way, been known for weeks now that his days as a Redskin were done
Was this the trade that was discussed yesterday? Or is there potentially another one coming?

Re: Chris Cooley Released

I wish him well and part of me is hoping we pick him right back up. I think he still has some juice in the tank.

It's been discussed. It's been talked about. But as we all know there is always a golden child in every office. He was it. Never thought this day would actually come. I figured he would retire or (god forbid) get injured and not be able to continue which again would lead to retirement.

The only bright side is him possibly being in the booth instead of Aikmen.

There were a few trades discussed yesterday. But this is not the one I was talking about, nothing came truly close to happening with Cooley

Contract made him un-tradeable.

Re: Chris Cooley Released

Cooley would, I think, do better in the studio on sports radio than as a color commentator in the booth

Sucks, love the guy. My 2nd favorite Redskin only to Green. Bye Cooley thanks for the memories and effort. You were a bright spot for many years when everything else seemed dark.

Re: Chris Cooley Released

Hopefully he goes to a team like the Pats or Broncos, and has a chance to win a championship as a role player

Re: Chris Cooley Released

Is his gallery in Leesburg still open?

At least he has another passion in his life to fall back on unlike a lot of players (and a hot wife).
