It would absolutely impact the black market. It's not the only thing dealers sell, but it probably represents the majority of it.

Pot dealers will simply go by the wayside if it's legalized. There's not going to be any need for a black market once it's legalized and mass produced and sold in stores and cafes, or people growing in home gardens.

Good move...People get what they want...someone that's already into coke or meth will continue to ge their fixes....rec users will get theirs from 7-11. One thing for sure, 50 biliion dollar drug war is a complete failure.

And this one line for sure is one of the larger reasons why they haven't legalized it to date. They do not want the drug ware to be seen as a total and complete waste of time and money...

Making it legal should carve into the profit margins of drug dealers, which in turn provides less incentive for folks to become one. Taxation is ok, but too much taxation could result in a black market.

Vaporizers are where it's at. Or so I've heard.

Regardless, weed doesn't have all the chemicals and additives that cigarettes do.

that's what i meant. and i prefaced it by saying that smoking anything is not good for your lungs.

but point taken as far as impaired driving. but i'd like to see the stats on the alcohol-related crashes/deaths compared to weed-only impaired driving. not saying people should drive around all high'd up or that no one's ever killed someone cuz they drove high without drinking at all...
poor phrasing on my part.

Kinda hard for a stoner to get killed driving since he's probably going 20 mph in the slow lane, if he even leaves the house at all. Stoners are why delivery was invented. lol

Oh for sure. They are nearly smokeless. All you're inhaling is the THC. They rule. I've used them, I'm not gonna lie. I think smoking weed in moderation is totally fine, and I personally enjoy it. I'll say that anonymously on this site. I'm no pot head, but I do partake, discreetly. I find it relaxing and fun. Nothing like catching a quick bake before laying by the pool, going to the beach, or watching a really funny movie. I never do it before I have anything of significance in front of me for the day.

I personally think the actual use of it is pretty harmless. Certainly more harmless than alcohol. The fact that alcohol is legal and weed is not is hilarious IMO. How many awful incidents does alcohol lead to in this country every day? People get hammered and do all kinds of dumb shit. Drive cars, beat people up, injure themselves and others, etc etc. When's the last time you saw a news headline that read "man high on marijuana robs bank, shoots security guard." ???? Doesn't happen.

Weed leads to good laughs, deep thought (in my case anyway) and junk food. I'm all for legalizing it, and not just because I smoke it. When you think about the massive tax revenue it would generate and pair that with the relief it would give to our legal system that is so bogged down with petty marijuana arrests/jailings, it would be a massive financial boost for the US.

I'm all for what Schneed suggested. Take the revenue generated by marijuana taxation and throw it back into the healthcare system.

i completely agree with you, and i'll admit i also smoke and i know after one really good night i left a post that didn't really leave much doubt. i have actually incorperated it into my workout/diet routine. since i drink alot less when i smoke i have been smoking more to cut down on the amount of alchol i drink getting ready for beach season. with smoking more and not drinkin as much and working out i have lost over 25lbs. i'm not saying it works for everybody but it's working for me.

as for legalization even before i started smokin again i have always thought it should be legalized. it is just a huge ammount of revenue just sitting there waiting to be taxed. i really honestly beleive that if it were legalized it would greatly help out our economy

the only real downside to smoking pot is the fact that this thread was started about a week ago and this is the first time i had noticed it
