Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Bottom line, he inherited a shitty roster and FA’s and was expected to create a miracle. Joe quit to save his reputation, he gave in to Snyders desperation and shouldn’t have.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Gibbs was the only coach where I believe that Snyder never meddled in football personnel decisions.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Ok, Gotta draw a line on Gibbs 2.0 bashi
ng. He coached his ass off and arguably digotgot more out of less and coached BETTER than he did when he won the damn Superbowls. Twice, he went in December runs to make the playoffs in December while hanging in a thread with a subpar roster. Once dealing with a frickin murder situation. Don't mess with Gibbs. He is awesome. Maybe didn't have the most creative stuff, but frankly, he had brunell. How the hell would you win with Brunell? Running game and defense and field position and special teams in low scoring games. Sorry guys, his players were average at best. A good coach gets more from less, like Gibbs. A bad coach gets less from more, like Rivera. Regarding Gibbs advice. He is a coach, not a GM. GMs don't motivate, they build teams. We need Bethard 2.0, Gibbs 2.0 without Bethard 2.0 is a very good coach, just not a Superbowl winner. You need player to win. It takes the right 100 people to do that. One coach, no matter who it is, cannot win with a sucky team, look at Darth hoodie.

Not to take away from the fact that Rivera royally f*cked up this year, but in the first three years with Snyder, no coach (except Gibbs) was going to be succesful. People forget that Ron's hire and the whole notion of "him being in charge" was just another ruse by Snyder, since he knew everything was collapsing around him.

I don’t think anyone is bashing Gibbs I don’t think it is a fallacy to say there are people I would prefer Harris to confide in with a GM/HC search

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
You really want to draft Greg Oden at QB?
4/5 college seasons ended with major injuries, both knees and shoulders blown out! He hit the superfecta of injuries. No doubt the guy can play but his injury history scares me away. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa...4200aa707f2876 “The best ability is availability” Bill Parcells |

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
the gibbs roster wasn't that bad. he chose brunell, so, that part is 100% on him. brunell "won" a playoff game with 25 total yards passing and an interception.
he did good, we got to the playoffs 2/4 years, which, you know, is success around here. |

I have no issues with Gibbs & Harris having conversations. Think we may be making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Seriously. Gibbs is a leader of men, a winner, and a righteous, humble human being. The idea that Harris could be getting taken down some wrong path by Gibbs at this juncture in their lives is ridiculous. Harris was a 30-year old fan of the team when Gibbs started winning here. Of course he relishes every chance he can get to talk to Gibbs, who is 83 and not going to be around forever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Sorry to say, you are more wrong about that than you realize. Analytics is so integrated with coaching today that football may as well have been invented in the 21st Century. Analytics is based on facts which have disproved many traditional assumptions about game management, player acquisitions and more. Furthermore, it is clear that the new owners intend to move forward with implementing a strong analytics role within the football operations side of the business.
