Re: Redemption Week!!

I want to win this game so bad...usually this is the game skins have a letdown.

Sunday can't get here soon enough.

Re: Redemption Week!!

I am very concerned with this game. It just seems like in years past when a talented team is struggling they always seem to get back on track against us! The eagles are undeniably talented on both sides of the ball (minus run stopping players) and it is going to take a well played game by the Skins to walk away with a victory. We will need to control the ball with our running game and play action passes. Fred Davis needs to have a big game and Kerrigan and Orakpo need to harass Vick all day long!

Looking forward to Sunday!

Had a dream last night we beat the eagles by 3 touchdowns and ended Vicks season.

Re: Redemption Week!!

Coming off a bye week, at home, after what happened last year, there is no excuse to not win this game and bury this divisional foe.

I take that back. The only excuse would be - we weren't who some people thought we were!

I think we take it in a close one, but only if we win the turnover battle and are able to establish a decent running game.

Re: Redemption Week!!

Just watched a recap of the 2005 Week 17 game on Hulu last night. We came back from behind to beat the 6-10 Eagles to finish off our 5-game winning streak to make the playoffs after starting 5-6. Finished 10-6.

Sean Taylor sealed the game with a fumble return for a TD.

Was incredible to watch.

We'll beat them again Sunday.

10-6 for us and 6-10 for Philly is looking like a real possibility right now for 2011 too.

Look up the game on Hulu.com...just search Redskins and look for "Game of the Week" with the Eagles and Redskins. Only takes 30 minutes to watch and worth it.

Lemar Marshall's interception was the game's most crucial play. The pic of ST leaping over the goal line has been my screensaver on my work computer for years.

Portis ran like a beast in that game also.

Re: Redemption Week!!

This is a great thread! All week I have been listening to NFL radio and no one I have heard has brought up the fact that this is a revenge game for us. I am sure everyone who was on the team when we got demolished on Monday night in front of a national audience circled this game the day the schedules came out!

We are a well coached team and have had an extra week for film study / preparation. that being said, we should be able to figure a way to catch N.A. out of position once or twice. Plus, everyone knows that Torain is the perfect RB to go against the eagles right now. I'm talking SMASH MOUTH football!!!

To me, the key to the game will be keeping their O off the field and NOT letting Vick escape the pressure (because there will be pressure) and extend plays or make plays with his legs. I believe their O has too many play makers for us to assign a spy, so we will just have to be very disciplined.

I hope the coaches have played last years game for the team as a motivational tool this week!

Re: Redemption Week!!

The one thing I am most hopeful for is a solid game by Kerrigan and Orakpo in terms of containing (and smashing) Vick. The one thing I know I won't see is anyone on this team lying on the ground if Vick does get out loose

Re: Redemption Week!!

This will be a VERY hard game to win. Dirty Birds are desperate.

But if we can pull off the W, we'll officially move from "feel good story" to "legit division contenders".

Big game.
