More proof that RR is totally in charge.

As much as I was giving DH the benefit of the doubt, I really didn't like his whole "I wasn't staring at receivers" response when he clearly was.

Too bad he didn't work out. Oh well.

This.

I kept defending him even when he was making dumb statements like that.

Ron is obviously putting the needs of the team as priority #1 right now.

Hope the timing doesn't affect our ability to get a long term starter next year.

Wish the team hadn’t voted him captain. He wasn’t ready for that either. I wonder whether they’ll continue to try to develop him or whether this represents moving on for good.

After everything we've heard from Haskins, I don't think he has the mentality to buckle down and work his ass off to get the job back.

I think he's done here. Just hope we can get something for him.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

I'm actually surprised. Ron's been in an evaluation/rebuild mode ald I thought he'd take the entire season to see if Haskins is the future.

I guess he's made his decision already.

It's a complete cleanout of the previous regime, as it should be. It was never going to be a quick, or pretty process, but I am trusting Rivera has a long-term plan that will hopefully result in success.

A few MLB teams have gone through the multi-year destroy and rebuild plan with success: Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox (in year 3 of plan and seeing results now). While we do not have minor leagues to build up, we'll have to rely on draft picks.

Year 1 draft results by Coach Ron have looked like a success with Chase Young, Antonio Gibson immediately being productive, with late-round picks Cameron Kurl and James Smith-Williams contributing. If Charles and Gandy-Golden get rolling, great draft overall.

Who knows, maybe this is a quick kick in the butt for Haskins to wake him up and make him feel expendable if he doesn't fix things.

It's also possible Ron is looking at this division and thinking he can actually win it in a year he hadn't planned on contending in. We CAN win it.

Haskins will be inactive. This is the next step for Alex Smith returning. This staff believes Smith is ready to play. #WashingtonFootball

I said early last year that Haskins has none of the qualities I would look for in a QB. I never understood what people saw in him. I'll be surprised if he ever starts another game anywhere.

Agree.
He looked slow and out of shape at the combine. He did not look like an athlete.
Looked like he should be driving an icecream truck.
According to heavy.com Haskins ran among the slowest 40 time for a QB in NFL history.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

Allen feels like a Colt situation.

Knows the offense, can get the ball out quick, limited arm.

Yeah the ceiling isn't very high with him. He should be able to operate the offense more efficiently but his arm is definitely limited. Let's just hope he's not as fragile as Colt was.

Allen had a 49.7 grade for 2019, last amongst qb's with at least 200 dropbacks.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

I can't believe Alex Smith could see action Sunday (If Allen goes down) who would have ever thought it??
