Re: Redskins Offseason Thread

from yahoo, here's the team's response:
Quote:
The Redskins provided a statement to The New York Times that said: “The Redskins’ cheerleader program is one of the NFL’s premier teams in participation, professionalism, and community service. Each Redskin cheerleader is contractually protected to ensure a safe and constructive environment. The work our cheerleaders do in our community, visiting our troops abroad, and supporting our team on the field is something the Redskins organization and our fans take great pride in.”
That's pretty d*** bland considering the bombastic nature of the accusations.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread

This is that dumb shit we are always moaning about happening to us.

What clown authorized this nonsense? If it's Bruce, yet another reason for him to walk. Whoever was involved in this needs to lose their jobs at a minimum, assuming they're still here.

As BHA said, this basically amounts to trafficking women. What kind of moron thought this would be a good idea? Fucking idiots. You never hear about the Steelers doing some dumb shit like this.

Yea. Like anything. It's never a bad thing to let all the facts come out before taking a position.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread

[edit, I just read the article, was worse than i thought]

I can't wait for Cooley to comment, his wife was a cheerleader 10 years ago and he may know many of them on the 2013 squad..

Look this is a horrible newsline, and if confirmed, I support fixing this and punishment for anyone involved (...anything except salary cap/draft picks). No one should be forced to be topless or be an escort.

My guess is hanging out with random guys is part of the cheerleader description -- but not as "escorts" and not selected for one-on-one at night...
And barely clad photo shoots for a cheerleaders are also incredibly common, although not topless with spectators...

I think they'd have to revisit cheerleader squads league-wide to standardize / regulate them, because I'd bet many go over the lines of what is reasonable..

Depending on his asking price, that would be yet another option.

The source of the story has an agenda unfortunately. Searching redskins with the source, you find a series of stories about the Redskins name and them constantly crying about it.

So when you try and can’t get the name change, then you try a smear campaign. Journalism 101.

Fuck this story

gotta spell it out for G1 folks. New York Times...that's who did the story. Their history with anything Redskins related has been about the name and how they promote the faux outrage.

It is foolish to immediately disregard this story, it is serious issue if it is true. NFL definitely needs to initiate investigation on this story to see if there's truth to it.
