JP Finlay
@JPFinlayNBCS Martin Mayhew says Commanders plan to meet with Terry McLaurin’s agent this week. He’s going into the final year of his rookie contract 1:44 PM · Mar 2, 2022 from Indianapolis, IN·Twitter for iPhone JP Finlay @JPFinlayNBCS · 23h Mayhew says Commanders met with Cam Sims agent yesterday and have meetings set with reps for JD McKissic and Bobby McCain. Mayhew says Washington wants all 3 back if deals can be agreed. ----------------- Id like all 3 back as well. McCain had up and down play, reminds me of Swearinger in that he can lay the lumber, seems to be around the ball .. just doesnt put it all together. A C+ player imo. |

Him and Allen are gonna be the 2 leaders to bring us back to success. If no contract - Definitely franchise tagging him for 1 year.

Yeah I hear you, but let's be real, when it's your time to get paid, you listen. He's looking at life changing generational wealth. Big picture who cares about who your QB is when you're talking about a deal probably worth close to $20M a year, and probably over $50M guaranteed.

But this will be his first real NFL pay day. He will likely have at least one more - but not if he continues to have a QB who constantly puts his health in jeopardy. There's no reason to be in a hurry to get it done if your Terry. At a minimum, he should wait to see who the QB is going to be. |

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1
NFL just inked over 100 Billion in 10 yeas of TV deals, theyve been crushing TV rating this past year, 2023 cap could jump to 225M from the current 208M.
If Im Terry .. I wait a year unless Skins offer stoopid money. Wr tag will be 22M range by then. -------------- Terry has made pennies so far compared to his teammates. Hes made about as much as Troy Apke in his career so far. In these situations, I hope the Skins approached his camp last offseason to show him the money. When a player is being vastly underpaid vs production and you wait until the last moment ... that wouldnt sit well with me. |

The money is always going to be higher next year... do you really risk an injury over maybe $2M more per season?

Re: 2022 off season thread part 1
Snyder either paid him off or threatened to sue him into the stone age, or someone told him if you want to work in the NFL on the media side, releasing this book right now isn't a good idea for your career.
Either way, it was probably a bad idea on his part to go around telling everyone this was in the works. He set himself up to look bad. |

I don't know how much Cooper would cost, and I want them to focus on getting Terry's deal done. But adding Cooper to this WR group would entice any QB IMO. Hell, even a rookie QB would benefit from having Terry, Cooper, Logan, and (a hopefully healthy) Samuel.
