Whatever options they go .. we end up a game or two below .500 regardless
Your probably right, I just dont want to saddle the next front office with cap hits and lack of picks from the get go because of QB chasing by the previous regime while not fixing obvious O line issues

This would be funny if it wasn't so true.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

Lynn literally said (in 2016) that he wanted to play smart physical football; that he wants the offense to be explosive down the field...play a little bit faster and see if they can put a little pressure on the defense.

From that, where are we getting " conservative offense, run first approach, won't take deep shots " ?

Phillip Rivers with the Chargers wasn’t exactly run heavy.

Yeah the only thing I know of Lynn would be the chargers offense during his HC tenure of 2017 to 2020 .. he had an elder Phillip Rivers

2016 - Bills OC - led league in running 50.93% runs
2017 to 2020 - Chargers HC - pass oriented, bottom 10/15 in league in run %
2021 - Lions OC - ran ball 41.9%, 13th lowest or so

Was 2016 a Shady mcCoy bills year?

------------------

Best indication I could hope for is a guy who schemes to his talents and roster

Little worried that he only lasted 1 yr in Detroit. Careers been going backwards.

2020 - HC
2021 - OC
2022 - RB coach

----------------------

Wed be lucky to get someone decent imo

This is not a good job to take. Wrong place, wrong time.

Thank you Chief. I was about to make this same post. Just because he was a rb coach means nothing. Coordinators come up through the ranks however they can. Im sure he is quite adept at doing other things…..

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

With the exception of the 2021 season when he was with Detroit, he's contributed to offenses in LA and SF, that were all top 10 in yards per game since 2017. I didn't watch every one of those team's games, but if they weren't explosive, they were at the very least - effective. They had the ability to move the ball and score points. That's all we need with this current defense.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

I'm fine with Lynn. They are taking their time with this process (not a bad thing). I'm ready for someone to have the job. I need to be able to start complaining about stuff that actually happened instead of hypotheticals.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

He was hired on as the assistant head coach for the 49ers, and then took the additional duty as running backs coach.

As far as the lion's, it's not uncommon for a new head coach to bring in his own staff.

He might be my favorite candidate as far as those who have interviewed so far. He has a mix of 'been there done that', some success in places he has been, and credibility.

My hope they get the guy who really wants to be here and work with this young group of guys. We got too much talent to struggle on offense.

Schumer and Zampese would be the lame duck, going nowhere choice

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

I think Anthony Lynn is perfect. Let’s face it with BR and Gibson we should be a run heavy team. But he is definitely a well rounded Offensive guy. Has worked with run heavy and pass heavy teams. If, big if, GM Ron manages to rebuild the o line and Sam is as capable as I believe he is than Lynn would be a great choice.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

I agree.

Let's also face the fact that we haven't gotten the best out of these two RBs yet. BRob in year two, not coming off being shot in the knee, should take a nice step forward. It could be a great tandem with him and AG, especially if we upgrade the O-line. He has a lot of experience coaching some pretty good RBs - names like Fred Taylor, Julius Jones, Jamal Lewis, LaDainian Tomlinson, LeSean McCoy, & Christian McCaffrey.

BRob has such potential man. Seriously like u said, imagine an Oline, not being shot in the knee in the off season, and an OC that understands what he had there? Dude could be the rushing leader. He was an absolute beast and that was with the injury, no oline , and Scott fucking Turner. Im super pumped about him going forward.

I want to draft a G, C, and T in the first five rounds.
