Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
Kansas City radio host says Chiefs, Condon have spoken about Peyton Manning | ProFootballTalk
Peyton Manning to the Chiefs makes too much sense not to happen. A potentially great defense, plenty of skill talent, holes on the offensive line sure, but I'm not convinced that the Chiefs aren't the best team in the AFC West right now. Peyton Manning wouldn't be any better than the second best QB in that division totally healthy, and in a physically limited state, he's not even as good as Carson Palmer. But the Chiefs as an organization are so far above the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos that it makes sense for Peyton to come in and dominate that division for a couple of years trying to position them for his second super bowl. Prediction: this will happen.

Interestingly enough, Condon was once an offensive lineman for the Chiefs

In this scenario, I wonder if the Chiefs would let Bowe walk and sign Wayne to replace him. The Chiefs could have an amazing offense (when healthy) with Manning.. Manning, Charles, Wayne, Moeaki, McCluster, Baldwin.. That's a nice offensive unit.. Where would Cassell play into the free agent QB list and teams looking? I could see him going to Seattle or Miami.. I'm still holding onto Manning to AZ, Kolb to Cleveland, Flynn to Miami, Campbell to Seattle and RGIII to DC!

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
You're saying a "totally healthy Peyton Manning < Philip Rivers?" And you're not just saying, you state it as if it's an undeniable fact. I'd be very curious to see how many gm's around the league, given the choice only between Rivers, Tebow, Palmer and Manning, would choose anyone besides #18. I watched Philip Rivers this year and he was just not the same player as he has been in years past. I could see if your case was "over the next 5 years..." but you're saying that TODAY, Rivers is better than Manning at 100%. I know you do the analysis... but no way can I buy into that.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
2 quick notes
Baltimore said they are prepared to offer Ben Grubbs a BIG amount of money. Jeff Fisher is thinking about adding Haynesworth, the greatest redskin signing of all time!!

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
Jeff Fisher can have fun with that. I don't think Haynesworth has the motivation to be a top notch player anymore though.

According to Schefter, Garcon rejected a 5 year offer from the Colts. Wants to test the market

If we get into a bidding war with someone else, idw him. "Test the market" sounds like "wants top dollar" to me.

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
I would take a look at Castillo if he's released, I've always liked him, a high motor type player.
San Diego Chargers plan to release DE Luis Castillo, source says - ESPN
