Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Gonna be compared to Lamar and Mariotta. Huge LSU fan, he has gotten better every play. Needs to put on a little weight and learn when to get down. Took a few unecessary hits the last 2 years

Daniels at 3? That’s a reach IMO

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Not a chance in hell I'm drafting Daniels at #3 or #4.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I'd be perfectly fine if they drafted a QB at 3 or 4.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Pork is just in denial, he’s actually wanting a QB at 3 but he is scared that pick will be a bust so he wants to take the safe pick with OT… But in reality no pick is really safe, they are all gambles so take the QB hahaha

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
OT can be a bust just as much as QBs can.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
J Daniels is listed at 6'4", 210.
L Jackson is listed at 6'2", 216. If that is correct, I don't get why some are worried about JD's size. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I think if you look at those numbers he is a bit thin rather than anything else, so from that perspective he may have trouble holding up to the rigors of the NFL game, especially as running is a part of Daniels game.
This team will take a couple of years to fix after what Ron has done, drafting a QB right now might not be the answer. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
He's gained some weight this year Daniels that is and Lamar said himself he's closer to 224-230 this year. Daniels is just slightly built so he will.have to gain about 10 lbs or so

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
More than doable in an NFL strength and conditioning program, if that's the goal.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
You act as if I'm the only person not sold on taking a QB at #3. Even if I was the only person, I'd still be fine with my belief in not taking any of these QBs at the #3 spot.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Given remaining games etc. I think the draft order is unlikely to change so its now very possible that Maye is there at 3, assuming Bears grab Williams and Cards take Harrison. Given their needs this makes total sense. But then there's a few wildcards. While there are other teams with a need at QB that could trade up, the Pats are most capable of swapping picks with the Cards and likely to have a new HC looking to make a splash. Do we talk to the Cards to head this off? Are we so desperate to grab Maye we blow up our own draft?
I actually doubt, barring a stupid offer, either the Bears or Cards trade. Even if they were to trade back with the Pats, there's no guarantee who they want is there as we could then take Harrison. So most likely everyone in the top 3 holds onto their positions and its Williams, Harrison and Maye. Then the Pats reach for Daniels and they're back to square one at QB. I can live with Maye @ #3, but trading up even if an option, would be folly given the talent that would be available regardless of the top 2 picks, and our needs. |
