Unbelievable, but 8 teams have a worse record than our Skins and 3 other teams have 3 wins. 2nd place in the NFC West has 2 wins half way thru the season. It's way to early but we'd only have at best the 9th pick in the draft.

I know, its crazy to think they are actually worse teams than us right now. The last couple weeks we've played like the worst team in the league outside of Indy.

Struggled against TCU in 2010 but didn't wilt and brought the Aztecs within five after trailing by 20 at half. Mental Makeup - 3 - "Gunslinger that put too much faith in arm strength and threw into coverage at times. Made some questionable decisions, especially in the face of pressure. Can get through progressions and manipulate coverage with eyes but room to improve in that area. Average anticipation and can be too quick to check down at times. Tough and willing to take the big hit if it means buying receiver enough time to get open."

Accuracy - 4 - "Missed high. Skipped passes. Threw behind receivers. Didn't square up and threw off balance rolling to the right though did a better job of it rolling left. Left the ball too far inside and gave defensive back chance to make play on fade route. No question that he can spray the ball around and needs to improve in this area. On the other hand, accuracy isn't as bad as the stats suggest. Put ball on receiver but put too much velocity on some short-to-intermediate passes. Receivers weren't always able to come down with fast ball. Willingness to throw into coverage resulted in several tipped passes. Both of which affected completion percentage. Touch and timing on deep throws over the middle are above average if not elite. Can put the ball where the receiver can run under it when throwing down the sideline. "

Release/Arm Strength- 1 - Can stretch the field vertically and made some impressive throws on film i.e. 60-yard seam route on second play of the 2010 TCU game. Put the ball on a rope throwing outside the hashes. Can thread the needle. Doesn't have to set or step into throw to put adequate zip on pass. Made 30-yard pass across body early in the third quarter of the 2010 Missouri game. Over-the-top and quick release. Natural and relaxed follow through when footwork is sound.

Pocket Mobility - 3 - Foot speed is slightly below average and took a split longer to set than most quarterbacks when dropping from under center. Sensed pressure off the edge and kept eyes downfield as stepped up. Not quick enough to get outside the pocket and doesn't move well enough laterally to sidestep pressure up the middle.

If we were to draft to qb outside of the first round it has to be Kellen Moore. Ryan Lindsay had all the physical skills, but he's just not all the good. I think Kellen Moore will be a much better prospect. When I look at Kellen Moore I see a guy who's extremely accurate with the football. The only thing that's keeping him out of the top 5 of this draft is size and arm strength. I consider both to be overrated. This guy is an outstanding passer and if we can get him in the second or third round I would happy. I think he's the second coming of Drew Brees.

Lindley is a four year starter who has struggled three out of four years at a low level of competition. Guys like that have a place in this league, but when they have to play, they usually turn out somewhere between Derek Anderson and John Skelton. Can't spend a pick on that when there will be better players in undrafted free agency.

I think Kellen Moore is a better pro prospect coming out than Andy Dalton. The problem with Moore is that six foot guys simply can't be used in the same way that six five guys can in the NFL. There are about 12 passing systems in the league where Kellen Moore is a bona fide first round talent. Of course, none of those systems are struggling to find quarterbacks. Those are the ones that employ Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Freeman, etc.

There are two teams who may be able to get first round value out of Kellen Moore who don't have an obvious long term solution to the QB problem. Arizona and Miami are running offense that could make Kellen Moore a star (though if either fires their offensive staff, all bets are off). He's probably a second or third round project to the Redskins.

I posted a scouting report of Kellen Moore on the previous page. The part that attracts people to him are the high marks for Mental Makeup, Intangibles, production, and short accuracy. The thing that kills him though is the height and marginal arm strength. It's just one of those things where if we draft him I'll assume we saw something in him and he fits the mold of what we need but otherwise I'm expecting him to be a third day pick.

I tell you what though. If he had to play an SEC team he would get absolutely destroyed.

I like Tannehill. I wouldn't spend a high pick on him or start him right away. And I realize he is short on experience. But he shows good mechanics, a good arm, a reasonable football IQ, and very fine mobility. I think he has a bright future.

There are several top college QBs that I like. Since Andrew Luck won't be drafted by the Redskins unless Shanahan gives away lots of draft choices to put the Redskins in the number 1 slot to get Luck, then Landry Jones, Robert Griffin III, and Matt Barkley are definitely next in line after Luck. Griffin III has a brilliant deep ball, pocket presence, can scramble with great running ability, his super accuracy, and very athletic. Barkley is very accurate, doesn't throw many interceptions, can scramble, plays in a pro style offense, is a field general, a team leader, and has the ability to hit his receivers in stride. Jones is a gifted QB. Although his completion percentage is down a bit this year, he's still a great passer with excellent pocket presence. He can hit the deep ball. Jones doesn't scramble much, but he can tuck it and run if he has to.

Problem is Luck is the only one thats likely to come out.

I don't follow college ball, but I will say this random thought. The "disadvantage" of the spread offense is hardly substantial enought to cause a QB to fail(aka, it's mostly BS). It's just a lack of knowledge and muscle memory. If the QB's brain is not pliable to make the transition, he's got bigger issues than the offense he ran in college. Guys like Sam Bradford and Cam Newton came out of the spread and they are doing just fine.
