Re: Training Camp thread
Agree with this. That's his issue. He is wanting more than his production should pay compared to other receivers. His age isn't helping at this point. If he doesn't lower demands, I expect a trade or more than likely franchised.

Re: Training Camp thread
I think it's something of a counter argument that he's suffered with some pretty poor to average QB play since he was drafted but has averaged over 1000 yds per season in his 6 years. I'd say that performance in context is top 10 worthy. Yes, the current management were not here during 5 of those 6 years, so as a business it is always what have you done for me lately/are you likely to do in teh near future. But given his performance and standing with the team, they can't treat him like an also ran and expect him to be happy. If we don't pay him someone will and then we'll be the ones losing.

Re: Training Camp thread
I don't see him getting the contract he wants from any team after another season or 2 considering he's likely going to be franchised. Almost unheard of for a wr to get a huge deal at 31 plus years of age.

Some how the Bengal's are going to sign Trey Hendrickson before we sign Terry
Interesting.... Sigh

Re: Training Camp thread
he's not getting traded. He's worth more here this year than the 3rd round pick you'd get. It's not like anyone else on the roster is ready to take his place.
he's made the argument that he's low mileage, but time takes us all. He can't will away the fact that, probably sooner than later, he's going to slow down a bit (and the margins in the NFL aren't big). AP hasn't shown a history of unwarranted stinginess, but he has shown discretion in big deals (bosa etc), so I'm assuming that the offer is reasonable. I do hope they figure it out. |

Re: Training Camp thread
I was reading somewhere earlier that the switch from left to right has been difficult for him as he has never played on the right side before. It did say that he is starting to get more comfortable and his instincts that kept screwing his footwork up are starting to come around . . . add that to the fact he is a rookie learning the nfl too, and i think he'll be just fine, will take some time though.

Re: Training Camp thread
Amos and Bill have a legitimate chance at starting. Bill has more explosion than any other back on the team. Getting him in the 7th rd is even better. No clue what to expect from Lane. He's fast and can separate. If he can beat press and man coverage, he could be great. Looking forward to the game this weekend.

Re: Training Camp thread
Not abnormal for an OL to have some issues the first camp out. It's different strength, different speed, and a position switch. I do think our 7th rounder will be playing real minutes this year, and very happy with what our DB situation appears to be right now (good).

Re: Training Camp thread
Apparently Conley held his own today and Tunsil owned his guys. Good sign.
