Re: Darrell Green does not support Redskin name change

To be fair...the article on ESPN was accurate. The headline though said they wanted it changed. I believe it said something like "Green,Monk support name change". I know ths because I thought it odd they did that when the article was clear they didn't.

NBC4 had that as a headline, not sure ESPN (or any of the other national outlets) did

Ive said it before n ill say it again... The cleveland "indians" have a god damn bugs bunny cartoon character as their emblem. Indians is also politically incorrect. Indians are from india. At least the redskins represent their emblem in a proud lite. Through song and image. I mean - is redskins really so bad? White black red yellow. Its a god damn skin tone.

You guys think that Monk would really feel that way? Especially after him experiencing the best moment the HOF has ever witnessed. I refuse to believe it.

I looked it up and they said indeed use the word "mull". I stand corrected. In any case I agree that it way past time for us to be done with this issue.

I agree that this was a total backtrack by DG when he suddenly realized he put himself in the middle of a controversial issue. I dont care if they change the name or not but I have said it before and I'll say it again, its only a matter of time before the name is changed. It might be next year or in 10 years but the name will be changed.

Re: Darrell Green does not support Redskin name change

Unless I miss my guess, you have no insight that is extraordinary on this issue? It is complete speculation and hyperbole on your part devoid of any fact. Based on this it is my request that you never mention it again until that changes........as this issue is real tired.
........let the regular season commence.

Re: Darrell Green does not support Redskin name change

DG and Art Monk were at the junkies bus to Richmond tour. According to one of the junks, DG was talking to one guy for a while and the junkie and his kid decided to approach DG and ask for a picture and autograph. DG denied him and said if he did it for him he'd have to do if for everyone else (the junkie was saying though that everyone else would be the 1 other guy who was talking to Daryl Green when he approached him.) meanwhile art monk was signing autographs left and right. The junkie later said that DG said he had some signed football cards and to do a little trivia to win the cards. He said Daryl would keep asking questions and as soon as someone would get it right, DG would do a follow up question and another until you got it wrong.

Personally, I've met DG before and he came off to me as a nice guy ( for the record, I didn't ask for an autograph and we got seated at the same table so we kind of we're forced to talk). But there's a line between being an athlete who doesn't want to sign autographs at all and an athlete who is tired of signing so many autographs when they're just trying to do daily activities like running to the store or going out with the family to eat.

All I would say to DG is you were once a kid who looked up to athletes and hoped for their autograph. Don't be that former athlete who turns down kids and people when your not busy or when it's just one person who recognizes you.

War Paint - Meaning of colors of War Paint, Body Paint or Face Painting
There were so many tribes of Native American Indians it is only possible to generalise the most common meanings of the colors and patterns of War Paint, Body Paint or Face Paint.

Red Color Symbolizes war, blood, strength, energy, power and success in war paint but might also symbolise happiness and beauty in face paint

Black was perceived as a "living" color and worn on the face to prepare for war. Very aggressive color. Black meant strength. It might also indicated that the wearer was a powerful warrior who had proved himself in battle. Black was also used to symbolize victory and might be applied before returning home to the camp

White Color Symbolizes mourning. White was also the color of peace when it was used as face paint.

Blue Color Symbolizes wisdom, confidence

Yellow Color Symbolizes the color of death. Yellow also indicated that the wearer was heroic, had led a good life and was willing to fight to the death. It also symbolised intellect

Green Color Symbolizes endurance. Green is associated with harmony and is a great healing power and believed to improve vision

Not sure if it was bought up or posted anywhere else, but what were all your all's thoughts on the email from Snyder about the name change?

I posted this on the Dallas thread, but this is more appropriate.

Personal letter from Dan Snyder addressing the team name:

Something tells me he charged this kid $20 for his autograph.

I wish Snyder had never bought the team, but very cool pic and letter.
