Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Pats gave up on him a couple years ago and now they're chasing Landry. Interesting that we could be swapping with ol' Bill B. Not sure how confident I am in the prospects of that...

I would also like to see us add another safety (as in one), either in FA or in the draft. |

I'll take that all day but I'm sure someone will have a problem with it.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
I don't like him but there isn't exactly a plethora of safeties to choose from right now. Guess I'll live with it. Better than doing nothing at all I suppose. Not like we are paying him much.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Needed to be done. This is the beginning, not the end, of the solution to our safety issues (let's hope!).
Another moderately priced mid-level signing--kinda weird to me still, after the Vinny years. If any of these FAs work out and flourish, they are excellent deals. Admittedly, we don't have big names here (even Garcon is but a #2 WR). But aren't we due to hit some of these? CB/RT etc. still needed!

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Landry is a bummer, but if he won't follow the team's advice on medical care and then isn't cleared to run, well...

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
I think this signing could be huge. He was a pro bowler a couple years ago. Then him and Belichick clashed and had a big disagreement about how the scheme was being run so he was sent packing from NE. Then he got thrown into the fire at chicago before getting a chance to learn the defense. I think we can get him back to form, but i think bringing back London would need to get done to make sure he stays in check.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Like the move... 2 yrs is reasonable... Keep in mind Raheem Morris is our new DB coach so he might know how to get him to play the way he did his first few yrs in NE; he's also 28 which is relatively young...
Question: Is he a true ballhawk FS or a SS? |

Exactly, people seem to be forgetting about Raheem and how good of a DB guy he is.

With Morris coaching him, hopefully he gets back to old form. I like it because he's still young so it's not like he fell off because his skills are fading. It's gotta be something else that I hope is fixable. It's high time we got a FA who turns his career around here as opposed to the Carlos Roger's of the world who leave here an then literally learn how to catch the football and tear it up somewhere else. I'm sick of being the team players give half effort to and mail it in. Meriweather knows if he doesn't kill it, his next contract is practice squad somewhere by the age of 28 making league minimum.
