Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW

According to the Washington Post Hankerson had surgery to repar a torn labrum in his hip last Tuesday. He expects to be ready for training camp...one can only hope.

All in all, not good news, and it makes getting a top wide receiver even more important for us.

No to both. One is a headcase and the other is on the wrong side of 30.

AA had an off year. I think he has the same talent as Garcon. I think we should get Desean Jackson and draft Juron Criner. That way we would have two young guys with size in Hankerson and Criner the 2 that can stretch the field in Jackson and AA.

AA isn't even close to the route runner Garcon is... Not even on the same field, all Anthony can do is the streak thats it

Why in the world would you want Wayne? Dude isn't what he use to be. Jackson I could understand because he's a beast, but he's also a risk. Isn't he done for a year if he gets into any type of incident?

Moss, Armstrong, don't count on them being back, JS.

Maybe, but with Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky at QB he still had 75 catches for 940 yards.
And if we get Peyton Manning it makes sense from a chemistry/familiarity standpoint.
And you would have to figure he'll sign a reasonable contract somewhere in the ball park of Tana/Derrick Mason 2 years ago.

Getting rid of Moss and Armstrong is digging a hole to fill a hole.

Not really. Hankerson is easily better than both of them, which says a lot when he didn't even play half a season. Niles Paul could replace Armstrong and get a similar outcome in performance.

Sure we hope that Hankerson could potentially be as good or better then Moss or Armstrong.
We all hope that Hankerson develops into a solid NFL WR.
But at this juncture to say that Hankerson is better then Moss and Armstrong is more then a bit premature.
Even though his season was truncated due to injury; he couldn't crack the starting line-up until week 7 and didn't have an impact til week 10.

Let's not use last year as a referendum on Moss abilities especially considering the dude broke his hand which is kinda important for a WR.
In 2010 just one short season ago a healthy Moss put up these numbers:
93 catches for 1115 yards both top 10 numbers.

I hope you know he did have a highly productive year, without Peyton throwing to him.

We're supposed to be look at the future aren't we? If this were five years ago, sure, but now, no thanks.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW

Maybe this should become a FA WR thread?

I dunno about VJax. Wayne is old, unless PM wants him I say no. I would rather go after Bowe or Colston.
