Which is why I wouldn't mind hiring him as an Asst. DL Coach, but as a player? no thanks. I guess he might be able to be used as a fill in for when the NT needs a rest for a play or two.

Would've been a nice fit a few years ago when he was leaving Carolina but he's of no use to a team that's rebuilding.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

Kris Jankins has injury and age issues like everyone else has said. But even though he may like the area and the team, why would a 31 year old want to come to DC over a team that can be in contention ie Jets. In my opinion it would be to get paid, not just check the Cherry Blossoms and reminisce at his UMD hangout spots. I realize that this is all speculation by the writer and not anything from Jenkins camp, so i think the writer is dead wrong.

Besides all that, what makes the writer think the addition of Jenkins would spur the release of Hanynsworth? I feel like Hanynsworth is going to get released or not going to get released regardless of who is added to the team. I feel like Shanahan could care less about the perception of his players, media and the fans have of him, and doesn’t mind keeping AH around regardless of what others may think. Danny is cool with it because its effectively punishing AH and is only costing him marginally more then what hes already paid. I think well try and trade him, but if we cant get a 7th from AFC team or a 5th or 6th from a NFC team then I think we keep him for another year, regardless if Kris da ja vue Jenkins is added or not.

If you mix old players with young players they will not Jell, simply because the older players will be gone in 1-2 years about the time they should be playing well together. Start Young-start fresh & rebuild. HTTR

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

I to think he is a non fit for the team, not because of his age but his 2 identical knee injuries within 11 months of each other. I don't see him playing a whole season anymore. What he does have going for him is his he is well rested and likes to play on natural grass and knows Redskins are desperately trying to replace Haynesworth.

But, He would not fit the "what we hope is the new mold and philosophy" of, rebuild with young, healthy, hungry talent.

53fan said it well, We need to stop going after the "was good" guys.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

It's funny how people feel that Shanahan should keep Haynesworth but they HAD to get rid of Campbell. I know they are different situations, but still.

"Punishing" Haynesworth is not going to solve the team's problems and personally I think the whole concept is laughable. As long as Haynesworth is on the team, there will always be a media circus around the situation. You'll have people like Kevin Sheehan bringing up issue many times over. Nothing positive will come out of Haynesworth being with the Redskins in the 2011-2012 season.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

Im not saying the Skins or Shanny should keep AH if the whole reason is to punish him or to make an example of him, I just think from an observational standpoint that seems to be the reality of the situation to some degree. I also don’t really care all that much one way or another, and even though it may make for good media headlines and is easy to debate I don’t think other people should care either. This team has a lot bigger issues to focus on rather then worrying about the dynamics of the Fat Albert/Skins/Shanny relationship. I got no probelm with Shanny hadling somethign that is in effect a very small issue his way.

Re: Kris Jenkins in Haynesworth out?

Haynesworth is such a tragedy. He could easily be the leagues best Nose Tackle if he was a team player, but his selfish nature has royally screwed us over. "Wahhhh, I want to chase the Quarterback and get my numbers so I can get in the hall of fame one day! WAAHHHHHHH!" Pretty hard to get into the hall when you never play.

I wouldn't necessary call it a tragedy, more like wasted talent. His shitty attitude makes him a wasted talent, and so does the team's insistence in wasting his ability at the NT position. In the end, he put himself in this position by taking the 21 mil bonus money. And the team should've known better to overpay for him.

Sean Taylor (happy birthday) was a tragedy. AH is a travesty

Someonew should embroider this and send it to Danny Boy and Vinny Boombatz. The card should read:

No thanks for the memories...
