Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
I feel like his hype really died down after fumbling twice in a preseason game.

My memory seems to think that Portis is always in praise of Davis ...maybe he didn't get the memo to keep our "007 Agent" under wraps.

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
Davis will get his opportunities this year, but playing behind a pro bowl TE he's only going to be a situational player. Here's hoping he makes the most of the opportunities he gets, possibly in two TE sets. I'm really rooting for Davis to succeed.

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
Yeah Davis probably didn't help himself much fumbling twice that game. But like 53 said it's no surprise he isn't getting attention when there's excitement swirling around a WR corp that spent years in the doldrums. Mitchell alone is enough to overshadow Fred.

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
Better protection, better WRs, 2nd year in the system for Campbell, Fred Davis, Zorn's second season, more plays inserted into the game plan... it all adds up to a MUCH IMPROVED OFFENSE! If the Skins can average 3-5 more point a game and at least maintain their defensive standing from last year, they will be a FORCE! If they score more and the Defense is better, sky's the limit! Is it Sunday yet?!?!?!

The offense certainly needs to produce better...don't care if it's Davis, Kelly, Thomas, Mitchell...or an old lady they pull out of the stands, or a combination there-of, we NEED better production!

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
Maybe he can't block. No one is talking about Yoder either. A lot of starting TEs don't get much attention, let alone the #2 or #3. I'm sure they'll fine a way to work him into the game plan. The more weapons defenses have to prepare for the better... which reminds me of why I like running back platoons... but I digress

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
I dunno, I guess I just figured it's because he's behind one of the best TE's in the league in CC, and (I may be wrong about this) Yoder is prob just a better blocking TE, which is often what you want from that position.

Re: The Forgotten 2nd Rounder...Fred Davis
From Matt Terl's blog. Maybe Davis IS having a tough time with his blocking assignments:
Two guys jumped out at me as having big days today. The first was rookie defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, who continues to impress. On one play he threw a blocker aside -- Fred Davis, I believe -- with as much force as I've ever seen. Saying that someone threw a guy "like a ragdoll" is an enormous cliche for a reason, but that's what this looked like. Jarmon also batted a pass down at the line against the first team offense, and just generally looked strong throughout the day.

They say no news is good news, we can't tell opposing teams all our weapons.
