re: Brian Mitchell let go from ESPN 980

I just always thought he was a guy who couldn't look at anything objectively. IE: when discussing Rock Cartwright's role as a running back, he would allude to his own experience and how kick returners "are much too valuable in the return game to risk injury playing tailback in the game."

I don't know who fed him that line of garbage when he was a player, but he should have known better than to regurgitate it over the airways.

I highly doubt Snyder had anything personally to do with this. I'm going to edit the thread title to be a little less dramatic and misleading.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

At least we're far and away from becoming ES. I'm reading a thread over there right now about zodiac signs and how they relate to Zorn

I've often thought that the problem with the Skins offense was not enough Taurus energy. They should stop doing drills at Redskins Park and just burn some sage.

If it will help the offense, I will be glad to take them some.

I'm glad I found this site. It seems much more my style & pace. Things just go too fast over there for me anymore.

That being said, I liked B-Mitch in the Post Game Live segments on Comcast. I thought most of what he said was honest & direct. he didn't sugar coat anything. He pointed out our mistakes & was usually on point with them. He also praised us when there was praise to be given. Several games at the beginning of last season, he was very impressed with how we were playing. He also pointed out that there were things that we needed to improve upon or teams in the League would take advantage of our weaknesses. Guess what? He was right. He wasn't a Homer, there is no doubt about that. But that's ok. I would rather have someone tell me the truth then dance around the subject & act like everything is ok, when it clearly is not.

BTW, I think they should get Emmitt Smith to replace him. That would be pure entertainment, listening to him butcher the English language mercilessly everyday. Priceless.

You are right on all of those points. And I'm one of those taht believes in hearing the truth. But certain people can get away with be straight up about things and certain cannot. Say for example Doc or coach Thompson can get away with saying pretty much what they want outside of getting an SEC violation. However BMITCH is not one those people. And I'm not sayiing this to be fact but if you are limited in other sports areas this makes you easy to let go.

Thank you. B Mitch was extremely positive about the good start last year. He talked about our weaknesses and he was right. I enjoy him on Comast b/c he speaks his opinion which is generally about right. I do think he can go overboard at times..like w/ CP. I enjoy his commentary though.

We gotta remember that we are an average organization at best right now. We haven't won jack for almost 20 years. 20 years!! Some think we're still the same organization and we're not.

Something Steve Czaban said was so true a couple years ago. DS needs to put those 3 Lombardy trophies away. Showcase them at Redskins Park but don't bring them out for announcements, signings, etc. Cause we really haven't done squat for a long time and we need to get hungry for another one. I'd rather him come out and tell the fans that we're gonna get another one of those soon and we're letting the past go for right now. I can't say it as well as he but hopefully you got the point.

B-Mitch tells the truth about this organization, which pisses lots of people off.

Thank you. That original post was so misleading. Cost cutting move, nothing more.

Re: Brian Mitchell let go from ESPN 980

Since John Thompson lost both of his "sidekicks" in this "restructuring", it will be interesting to hear what he has to say - if anything.

I have had sporadic contact with Thompson over the last 30 years. Trust me on this one; if he has something he wants to say about this matter he will - - and he will not be concerned about who likes or does not like what he says. It is also quite possible that he does not have anything to add to this matter in which case he will say nothing.

Monday's program should be very interesting...

John Thompson and Doc Walker together should be interesting

I wonder if this will open the door now for Joe Theismann's long rumored arrival to 980
