Gettis got hurt in preseason this year. Injury is why he has not seen a regular season NFL field since 2010. ACL/hammy issues.

I wouldn't say he's a bum but I'm certainly not thinking a wr who hasn't seen the field in almost 4 years is going to be our #2, especially not since he's on a futures contract.

If you look at this season, realize the guy was 23, and hey, those numbers would look pretty darn good for a quarterback if the year was 2006, then the answer is "Robert Griffin III."

And Trent Williams. And Jordan Reed. And Brian Orakpo They're really good too. And Shanahan's not here to explain to us in the offseason why it was critical for the success of the Redskins that we let Orakpo test the market.
I agree with you on the outlook for this team. First and foremost, the key to everything is the development of RGIII. A star QB can overcome many team deficiencies. Fortunately for me, my outlook is positive because I believe that RGIII will become a superstar.

RGIII has some very good people to work with on offense: Trent, Alfred, Jordan, and Pierre. Shore up the line and we'll be fine on that side of the ball.

On defense, we also have some very good people: Orakpo, Coefield, and Kerrigan. I also have hopes that Amerson, Phillip Thomas, and Richard Crawford will be solid contributors next season.

We should be able to fix ST's with a couple of inexpensive acquisitions and a legitimate ST coach.

We have cap room for some key FA's and we should get some help from the draft.

So, if we picked the right man as HC, I think we have a shot to be significantly better in 2014.

I agree, good outlook. Big IF's with RG3 and new young unproven coach, but good because:

1) RG3 - if he plays well.
2) 30 million salary cap
3) Young players in prime in key skill positions
4) Early 2nd round pick = close to first rounder
5) Finally will use collaborative effort / scouting reports - hope this is a good thing.

Wrong I went to the preseason games saw him catching and running and being dangerous. It was hard for them to cut him , he out performed LaFell. I was at the game saw it. He is not a bum, Gettis is a good receiver. Tall and fast with good hands.

Your fifth point is a very good one. I'm not as critical as some people are about Shanny's drafting and FA's but there is room for improvement.

Sounds like Malcolm Kelly. Tall, fast and injured.

I hope he comes back and does well. Hopefully being a Baylor man will help his chemistry with Griffin.

You missed my point. "Tall and fast with good hands" doesn't matter if you can't get on the field. And he hasn't seen a real game since 2010.

Well it was because of the Tedd Gin addition. The boy is good and explosive.

I would be happy if we get any contribution from just one Gettis next year.
