More good news today. I think I'll send Jerruh a thank-you note.

Stafford has thrown more than 40 td passes in the NFL in one season. He can play he just needs better coaching. He is not the best QB in the NFL but he can play.

Not sure about their cap situation though.
Redskins have less talent right now, but that's going to flip the other way in March when the Lions release useful pieces and the Redskins sign some.

Stafford has benefited from his defense, coaches, and offensive teammates. He's just a poor thrower of the football. Bottom line. He's not poorly coached. Linehan runs a qb friendly system, and they've given him proper development. That offensive line is very good at protecting a qb too.

Callahan and Kiffen should be gone.
That's just it. Jones sees a head coach as nothing more than an organizer. He helps lead the team, but pushes schemes down to the coordinators. So it's easy to see Garrett stay on as a coach until the team and players can't get behind him. Jones can get consistency with Garrett, but change beneath him to assure they get better.

The Cowboys took a chance on firing Rob Ryan and hiring Kiffin and now they'll fire Callahan and Kiffin and get 2 more coordinators. I could see Haslett end up down there, running the Cowboys 4-3.

I don't think Schwartz is part of the solution. The bigger problem with Schwartz is if the Lions decide to fire his assistants just so they don't have to fire a coach with a large buyout. The Lions aren't going to be able to get assistants to work under Schwartz who are better than what they have.

I assumed Schwartz would be the first one to go. Talk about a team that underachieved.

Well, you know they got that one guy, I think his name is Justin Durant, plays lb, pretty decent? And they got that guy in the secondary, don't know his name but I'm sure he's pretty decent, other than the fact that their secondary is terrible and one of the biggest reasons they keep losing games.

I'm not sure I would call him a poor thrower. He plays sloppy at times but his talent level is unquestioned. I'm sure there are many offensive coaches that would love to take that job. That one is probably a better one than here.

Louis Delmas, he is one of the better safeties in the NFL. He is better than anything Washington has that is for sure.

Re: Which other NFL HC's should be fired?

I hope we don't end up waiting too long for a coach and have to settle for Zorn part 2.

If they have a guy they want that isn't on a playoff team, they need to get him to sign before other teams can show interest.

I'm hoping for a Lovie Smith hire this week.

I get the feeling they might wait for Jay Gruden and if he stiff us, we will be screwed again.

Re: Which other NFL HC's should be fired?

How would you rank the openings?

1. Detroit - Most talent in place. Have QB.
2. Washington - QB in place. Money to spend.
3. Cleveland - Some very good talent. Need QB.
4. Houston - Good foundation. Need QB.
5. Tampa - Improved defense. Need QB. Good weather.
6. Minn - Aging stars. Need QB. Bad weather.
