Re: Mike Shanahan Recaps the Draft

You guys do realize that Zorn gave a very similar speech the training camp before he was fired right?

Every coach will say the right things to the public so take what he says with a grain of salt. Based on the fact that we were 4-12 last year and have one of the most difficult schedules in the NFL, anything more than 6-10/7-9 is a little unrealistic.

Yeah but it just sounds a little more convincing coming from a guy with Shanahan's resume.

And Shanahan knows to end with Hail to the Redskins. But Zorn's speeches were always more medium. When he spoke of the SB it was not as We will get it done, as much as that's the end goal of every team. I would say the tone, and tenor of a Zorn speech and a Shanahan speech are diametrically opposed.

Hahaha.. I completely agree Rbanerjee.. People always get excited each time this season, and like to forget the past, especially a 4-12 season. I'd say we were equally as hopeful and excited after Zorn's hire, Gibb's hire, Schottenheimer, etc... We always have fallen behind them because -- we have no choice, and we'd always like to think that the moves will take us to the next level..

As someone pointed out - we made the SAME picks in last years draft!! A LB, TE and WR. This time we added two late-round almost undrafted offensive linemen..

Anyway, I still do believe they are running things well, and I sense that there is a good plan and SMART front office moves and RESPECT in the locker room.

But I do think we'll be better than 7-9. I predict 9-7 with McNabb. I think he alone will bring the x-factor that can make our O-line & WR better.
