Flacco got merked. Qbs that wait too long to slide will get hurt. If you don't want to get hit slide way early. You don't get the best of both worlds. All the yards and a nice cute slide. Pick what you want, yards or no contact.

Re: Around the NFL Week 8

It’s a tough call, I don’t think Flacco intentionally waited until the last second to slide and I also don’t think Alonso was intentionally trying to hurt him.

It’s a bang-bang play and both guys had to make split second decisions. It’s football, it’s going to be violent sometimes.

49ers are just straight up garbage. They've been soundly beat by the Eagles and Cowboys.

Their OL is in the same shape or worse shape than ours. LT/RT LG out, lots of injuries on D also. I hope we fair better, injures suck!!

This is a bummer. I was hoping he would get more carries here.

This is right. QBs should be penalized for sliding late. I personally didn't think the Alonso hit was malicious. You can't expect a linebacker running full speed to stop in .5 of a second. Not happening.
Not only did Flacco slide late, he slid sideways.

I think that's a clean football play.
