(i say quit) Marty is a hell of a coach and should be a hall of famer. They playoff crap has nothing to do with Marty, the fumble, the drive, these are historical moments in playoff history that somehow say marty doesn't do well in the playoffs. As far as I can remember he is/was consistantly in the playoffs, which ever team he coached. Wouldn't you rather be in the playoffs every year, than one out of 10??
Did you forget Gibbs? He had us in the playoffs in 2 of his 4 seasons and over .500

Marty's conservative play calling is what I disliked about him, he had Jimmy Raye as his OC and believe me here in SF were he is the current OC people can't stand his ultra conservative style, they should have beaten the Patriots in SD when they were 14-2 and lost because of his conservative play calling and that wasn't the only time in his career. Marty is the kind of coach that will break your heart by having a great season and choking in the playoffs (5-13 overall playoff record) to me that's unacceptable. You can call it bad luck or whatever, but 5-13 is what people always remember.

Record wise, I was referring to overall, which gibbs was not over 500. The two years were great we made the playoffs, but both years took unbelievable runs (5 straight, then 4 straight) to make it. Gibbs was a different coach 2nd time around and many argue (me) that while gibbs was more CEO of the team, these guys rallied behind Greg Williams and the championship caliber defense he put on the field week in and week out. I am not bashing gibbs so everyone dont get your panties in a bunch, and I loved him here. He brought back the family atmosphere, some accountablity, and left with the assumption that Williams was the guy in waiting, but we all know how that worked out.

Listen to this little tid bit, Norv Turner is about to be the all time winningest coach in SD Charger history. So two HUGE mistaked, again my opinion, was getting rid of Norv, then getting rid of Marty and rehiring Vinny.

Yes he did. I find it funny people are all over his jock over this but simply over look Cerrato's failures at picking people. You do realize that we are below 50% on who we keep from our draft picks. All by Cerrato.

Plus maybe he saw something in Gardner that would have worked in his system. If I'm not mistaken Rod was a bit taller also which I think is why he was picked over S.Moss.

I remember that draft pick like it was yesterday - the Skins really needed a guard and the best one available kept falling. As the draft kept going I couldn't believe that Steve Hutchinson (who everyone thought was a top 10 draft pick) kept falling and not getting selected. Than it came to the Redskins - Steve hutchinson was right there for them - all the announcers were saying the Redskins lucked out and the annoucner came up and said the Washigton Redskins select Rod Gardner, wide reciever, Clemson. I throw my drink down in disgust saying how could the Redskins pass on the best guard available when they needed one so bad. We all know that Steve Hutchinson is an all pro guard who would have been a perfect new hog - but no the Skins had to go wide receiver and get one from my Gamecocks arch rival of all places - double whammy. I remember watching Gardner in a lot of games and he was infamous for pushing off on defenders to get open so I was so unimpressed with this pick - especially when Steve Hutchinson feel into our laps if our FO had only had a brain back than.

I'm not defending it. I didn't like 50/50. But Marty's one year could not be half as bad as Cerrato's decade or more.

Totally agree - if Vinny is not gone after this year we are stuck with him forever unfortunately.

Re: Marty *****slaps Snyderrato

why do you do so much name calling in your articles?

it's a really good way to destroy credibility.. so bitter

JLC would even be ashamed.. in turn that makes this board for the more intelligent poster look bad to be partnered up with you guys

it's become more of a smear blog than a news source

Or the burgundy and gold glasses are off and some are seeing what we have gotten over the past decade. Just a thought.

Smear blog, news source, opinion, news, negative, positive, facts, opinion, dying love and admiration, or dead cold reality, it is what it is .

Well cool man, keep doing what you're doing, but at least bring in a proofreader. Doesn't take long to run spell check.

I dont think that what he said was that bad, and it was probably taken out of context. The Post always tries to play on people hatred towards the organization. I think he was just stating the odvious. Snyder is not the best person to evaluate a QB, thats not that big of a deal.

Re: Marty *****slaps Snyderrato

I love getting these "tidpits" about the dysfunction that is the Skins FO.

Vinny might as well have told Marty "nanny nanny boo boo" what a tool.

I love how (when talking about Suisham) Vinny says "Sherm called a great game" ..... what a donk move, obviously trying to self promote.

I more than agree with his points, it's more the language than anything. If it was a fan blog, hey chalk it up to that. I feel like I'm reading JLC posting under a pseudonym on ES though. Some of the articles are good though.
