Re: Around the NFL Week 4

In regards to Winfield;

1) did the Seahawks officially release him? Last I heard they put him on the reserve/retired list, which means they still have him under contract should he return to the NFL.

2) He says he wants to play for a contender, why would he play for us?

Why wouldn't he? He would be an upgrade and instant starter on the secondary, I haven't written the skins off like some folks.

Look, if you're a pro bowler who has made millions in the NFL and has never been to a super bowl, who are you going to play for? The Redskins who are 0-3 and are on pace to have one of the leagues worst all time defenses, or a contender like, I don't know, Denver? Its pretty clear if you ask me. Sure months ago he probably did want to come here, but that was when he saw a team make a great run and make the playoffs. Not what he's watching now.

Another argument that may come up to my post could be "Well maybe he knows he can upgrade and improve our defense." Well, sure maybe he can improve our defense, but the problem is, unless our defense gets 4 Winfields, our secondary is going to suck and our defense as a whole still can't tackle. Getting Winfield would be a minor upgrade, a 32nd ranked defense to a 29th ranked kind of upgrade at best; decent but still not good enough.

He won't be starting in Denver or Seattle. No need for him unless someone gets hurt this weekend. If he just wants to occassinally play and all he cares about getting a ring those would the teams.

Can someone tell me why, every prime time game has to have an opening singer? Does anyone watch the NFL for the music?

This isn't about SF This is bad STL. I still don't think SF makes the playoffs I've said it all off season.
