Re: Expose on the Tea Party Architects

The Democrat Party and media are in for a huge surprise and wakeup call in November if they don't stop thinking of the "Tea Party" movement as a political strategy.

It's made up on regular, everyday, working and voting Americans that are sick of where the country is going, the lies and spending...and just the general mindset of those in power right now. They're not being paid and bussed in like a lot of liberal protesters, they're not just Republicans, just Conservatives, or just of any single mindset. They're just pissed-off voters who are ready to throw all of the bums out. They're brought together by frustration over not being heard, not a particular goal or something in common with one another. This is why they're going to affect these elections...they don't want their own party or candidate to win, they just want America to return to what it's supposed to be.

I don't know fd, they did just get health care at your expense not to mention all the other kickback perks like unemployment, ss, medicare, welfare, etc they have been getting for years. Hopefully your taxes go up so they can provide more perks in the future.

The vast majority of the Tea Party movement is made up of conservative white people. That's a really big thing in common.

Keep alienating every single minority group and keep on voting for the party that protects the super rich and keep allowing for the corporate stranglehold on American politics and just watch as the Republican party continues it's inevitable decline in national influence.

Angry conservatives who just want "America to return to what it's supposed to be" are in for a big surprise over the next forty years.

Buster, I don't know exactly what America is supposed to return to and what the Tea Party's solution to that is, but that's another discussion I guess.

As far as Dems being surprised, I highly doubt that as most predictions say that we'll either lose the House or come very close. I would say if Dems hold onto to both the House and the Senate, which is entirely possible because of the Tea Party candidates ousting reliable Republicans candidates who would have faired very well in the general, that would be the surprise of the day. I whole heartedly believe the media are secretly rooting for the Tea Party as that would be a significant narrative and signal a shift in American politics. I also take issue with the notion that Republicans, which is what the Tea Party is like it or not, are hard working 'Americans' and Democrats aren't. See it's this very fractured logic that will cause them to only appeal to a shrinking electorate.

If you look at the elections so far, prior to last two primaries incumbents are still winning more races and overall Dems are still stacking up pretty favorably. But don't take my word for it, look at the the special elections that have taken place since Obama has been in office. Even in reliably red districts, Dems are doing pretty darn good.

Is there a lot of angry sentiment out there towards this Administration, absolutely. But the Tea Party and the Republican party are going to have to come with a better slogan than "we want our country back", because that dog ain't going to hunt my friend. We've seen at least three national Tea Party candidates go up in flames recently: Sharon Angle, Rand Paul, and last night J.D. Hayword got trounced --trounced-- by old man McCain. My take is this whole movement/phenomenon is good for cable ratings, but unless you're putting together a message built on center/right or center/left policies, it's going to be an uphill battle in a general election.

If they can't harness this anger and frustration, as legitimate as it may be, it will all be for naught. And come November a lot of people will look at the results, not the rhetoric to see how effective the Tea Party really is...was.

Re: Expose on the Tea Party Architects

As a proud Democrat, liberal, socialist commie, facist, or whatever you guys are calling us these days, my biggest hope in defeating the Republicans for the White House is that the GOP will extrapolate the mid-term results as the formula to defeat Obama 2012.

For what it's worth, and certainly unrelated to this thread, there are rumblings that the White House may be considering switching Joe Biden's and Hillary Clinton's posts for the 2012 ticket. She would become the new star of the Democrat party if that happens. There's not a Republican, Sarah Palin included, that would energize their base like Veep Clinton. Considering that Joe Biden has been very visible and vocal on both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, it's possible they are slowly switching their foreign policy roles. Stay tuned kids.

Well at least your honest enough to admit what they are. The dems seem to know how to keep them poor and just happy enough to vote for them. I also notice how unemployment has become part of the mix with other social programs. Teach a man how not to work and you have a man who sits on his ass.

Re: Expose on the Tea Party Architects

it is amazing how people who HAVE a job...say that people who DONT have a job are lazy and gaming the system. Please let someone who DOESNT have a job speak up. What have the dems and Obama done:

1.Extended unemployment (which my wife needed after being laid off twice in 2 years)
2.Healthcare (my brother found out he had cancer days before he graduated from TCU and didnt have health insurance)
3. Credit card reform (companies wont jack up your fees without telling you in advance)
4. Tax breaks for the middle class (hey tea party....TAX BREAKS)
5. Increased pell grants for college students

If you have lived a "perfect" life then you wouldnt understand this....so you would rather criticize instead of provide SOLUTIONS. I get it....you want your country back....to the way it was when bush put us in this freaking hole!!!!! or .....you want your country back from a black president huh???

Re: Expose on the Tea Party Architects

The backbone of the Tea Party is over-55s and especially retirees -- some planned, some forced -- with the most valuable asset of all, time.

i think the above sums it up.

One thing tea party gets right are term limits...its time to get that changed asap
