Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread

By all accounts Grossman had a pretty good game. That last pick was bad, but he's always good for one of those. The first pick wasn't on him, Hightower dropped a catchable 3rd down, and he ran for a 1st down.

The question is: Would we be 3-1 if Beck was QB? I don't think we would be.

Because we ride this team into the ground. It's like a car that you love. It sounds like a truck and breaks down on you every other day, but damnit, you're going to ride it till it's dead.

I'm not against the idea, but I don't think it would be smart. I just don't know how much better Beck makes this team, if he does make them better at all. Pretty hard to justify a move like that with the team leading the division going into the bye.

I haven't been able to see the games so I don't know how bad Rex really looks. All I can see is his stats, which aren't great, but in the end, the only numbers that matter is the W-L record.

If you put Rex against Trent Cole and the Eagles you're asking for sack and strip fumbles. Granted Trent should be much better against him then Sam Baker but it only takes one play. I want the mobility of Beck especially with the running game coming on now. Bootlegs will be very deadly against an Eagles team that struggles stopping the run.

Actually it seems more like a fear of if Rex gets benched we can never go back to him. This isn't baseball people and like I've said since training camp, and many times today, the advantage of having two journey men QB's is you can bench one of them and not cause a huge S storm in the media. Sure we would love to have an actual franchise QB but the hand we got now gives us flexibility. I say we use it.

Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread

I dont think the question is entirely crazy. I think the question will be bounced around by the coaching staff. Rex has had 6 consecutive quarters of pretty poor play.

Exactly how I feel. Rex is a very average player at best, but does Beck really give us any better of a shot? We're 3-1. Benching Rex is a panic move. 3-1 teams that head into a bye week healthy and leading their division shouldn't panic.
