I watched the game today in a sports bar in Palo Alto, California. 3/4 of the place were in Steelers jerseys waving towels and ringing cowbells whenever they got a first down. Chatted with the folks at the next table - super nice, actually. They haven’t had a losing season in 18 years. That will get you lots of fans everywhere.

Yeah that helps with the fan base. Thing is, Pittsburgh hasn’t won a Superbowl since 2008, last appearing in 2010 where they lost to Aaron Rodgers. Steelers haven’t had a playoff win since 2016. They have 6 of their division games left and the Chiefs and Eagles. We’ll see how they finish and how they fare in the tough afc playoffs. Russell did just enough but he didn’t look great today.

I agree with all this. But a winning culture breeds loyalty. Hopefully, 18 years from now, our fans will irritate the shit out of everyone by dominating away game stadiums.

They'll be one-and-done in the playoffs. But I do hope they beat the Eagles.

Missed plays happen.
BST letting Williams run free and newton jumping offsides were a special kind of screwup that just can’t happen.

I simply can't watch Juste anymore. I have better hand-eye coordination than he does. Lattimore can't get healthy fast enough. I'm keeping every other DB in the same rotation and simply replacing Juste with Lattimore. Juste can ride pine the rest of the season.

If he'd stayed on 2 feet and just leaned back its a 1st down. But I'm not putting that on any one player. There were good plays and bad plays all round. Just hoping Lattimore is ready to go Thursday. BSJ won't be able to cover Brown. Beat teh Eagles and we still control our own destiny in the East.

BSJ can't cover anyone. We're fucked if Lattimore can't play against the Eagles.

They'll just rotate Smith and Brown to wherever Juste is and both roast the fuck out of that trashcan.

Ertz caught the ball beyond the marker as forward progress dictated.

Re: Commander vs. Steelers GameDay Thread

there were 10 plays or so that could have flipped this one. lots of dropped passes, muff, missing the 1st, offsides etc. OL had some trouble today and the production really suffered. We were in it basically till the end though.

as fasr as BSJ - you're going to bench him for who? forbes? davis? he's not in there cause he's good. he's in there because everyone behind him is a donkey. Even with Lattimore back, he'll still be playing a lot of snaps (just not against #1 WRs).

Re: Commander vs. Steelers GameDay Thread

Yeah, BSJ isn't going anywhere this side of FA or even the draft. With Lattimore on the field he'll be on the #2 WR and who knows, he may play better with the pressure off, so to speak. Even with Lattimore here, a CB is a priority in the draft, but we have to live with the roster we have for now.

I also thought it was smart by which ever department runs fan appreciation to hand out burgundy towels, coupled with the terrible towels it looked like burgundy and gold. It was a well played move.

A strong running game is a QB's best friend. I was pretty surprised that Rodriguez didn't get much action today.

But the blocking was either great or a huge missed assignment that set us back multiple yards. Negative plays are such a killer. Especially with a rookie QB against a very good defense.
