Hamas took control they have all the power., the money and the weaponry What are the citizens that literally rely on aid from Israel and Egypt supposed to do? Throw rocks at all the people with all the weaponry? That will end well. (I guess in the end it doesn't matter)

If innocents are being targeted perhaps they should stop bombing apartments. 400 children dead is just part of doing business? I don't think that is morally acceptable. If that is the best option we have we need to come up with better solutions. Perhaps you sleep comfortably at night think about dead children I do not.

This does not mean I support Hamas. Obviously they are heinous and do awful acts but do I think killing civilians to attack an enemy is okay? I do not.

Hamas didn't take control, they were given control by the Palestinian population of Gaza. And no I don't sleep well knowing children have been killed (I provided the info and direction for an ambush myself that led to the death of 4 kids and an adult (they were planting bombs) that still sticks with me)). I'm certain most of the Israeli's that attacked targets in Gaza don't sleep well either, but it still needs to be done.

The good guys generally do follow the rules as are the Israelis. Innocents aren't being targeted. They are being killed as a result of that targeting but they aren't the targets. I don't get how you can't see the difference. I was talking to a new co-worker and he described an ambush (not related to the one I described above) where they shot up a Taliban arms shipment they killed the 5 Taliban in the front and discovered 3 toddlers had been in the back with the ammo (all killed). He was almost in tears and this was after 20 years. It weighs on him but he knows it was the Taliban that was responsible for those deaths not him.

I am sorry that you and your coworker had to go through that. I just don't think collateral damage is morally acceptable. We have been doing the same thing for over 100 years but the results are no different it is infuriating.

100 years? The results aren't all the same they are mixed. The Nazis and Japanese militarists aren't in power in Germany or Japan, the South Koreans are free, the Baath Party and ISIS aren't in power in Iraq and lots of innocent deaths were part of the cost we paid for that.

When I said results are the same I was referring to civilian deaths as the cost of doing business. I would hope that we would have tried to reduce it at all cost possible at this point. Maybe this is the best we can do? I am pretty confident there is a 5 year old Palestinian kid that just lost his parents and in 20 years we will see the cycle continue. wash. rinse. repeat.

I see Hamas is now taking measures to ensure as many civilians are in the line fire as possible in Gaza (They told Gazans to remain in the area Israel warned them to evacuate).
