Never read anything about the Pope saying he doesn't like Trump. In fact, from what I read, the Pope's words were a generalization. He didn't come out and say, "Donald Trump is not a Christian". He said it is not Christian to want to put up walls. I agree. It isn't. Of course, the Pope is behind a wall....hhhmmm.....

but I digress...

I think you're blowing all of this out of proportion, because you, yourself don't like Donald Trump. I like Trump. Do I like him as a President? Nah, I think of him as a cartoon character, just like ol' Bernie Kosar Sanders. There's nobody from either side who will get the nomination that can truthfully be a successful President IMO. Which is sad. But the long and short of it is, if I don't vote for a presidential candidate, whatever the Pope says is not going to be my deciding factor.

Re: Republican nominee for President

Really don't understand why the GOP voters love candidates with no experience so much. Only one of the last five has any executive experience, none of them have any foreign policy experience, which is like 1/2 the job. Two of them have never been elected to anything.

Can anyone honestly say that if you were hiring for the position of President, that you would even consider these people for the job? It is like going to the hospital for major surgery and asking for the least experienced doctor they had, infact not even a doctor let the orderly do it.

that's why europeans kind of think our version of democracy is a bit crazy. parliaments (like in britain) have elections and the majority party gets the prime minister, who's usually been around and in that party for a long time, and is answerable to them.

the problem with outsiders is that people elect them thinking they'll be able to change things, and don't realize that the president's powers are actually a bit limited, especially if he's fighting congress.

Spin anyway to keep yourself happy but when World leaders make comments such as the Pope and he is a World leader and others you just know we are in for trouble.

No, the problem is special interest and lobbiest who buy and sell influence within the political system. It's no great secret.

I'm not spinning though. The Vatican came out and pretty much said just what I had posted. Those were not my words. As opposed to the words you posted, which are your words, not the Pope's.

And at any rate, it's an argument about Trump's true spirituality, which is kind of funny, since the thought of liberals is that religion should not have anything to do with who occupies the White House. Yet, this whole thing is based on if Trump is a true Christian or not. I just find it all ironic. Any other team, people would be denouncing anything the Pope has to say, because "Religion shouldn't have anything to do with the political process", yet if he happens to be opposed to a Republican candidate, then it's, "We should listen to the Pope!" Can't have it both ways.

Did anyone see this?! SMH.

There is literally no substance to what these people are saying. People are running with ONE talking point. "I looove guns. I love the second amendment, so I'm voting for Trump." "He has big balls, I'm voting for Trump."

Aside from a wall, he hasn't said SHIT. I hate politics and am already over it. Every other candidate has their own brand of bullshit, but it's the typical stuff we're used to every election season. His shit is just slammed in your face non-stop and these people just make me sad for America. If those type of people are what's going to make America "great" again, I hear Canada is beautiful this time of year.

I'm voting for Trump just so I can watch him troll the other leaders of the world.

It's shocking to think the rest of the world thinks of us as...shallow...decadent and valueless.
