Yeah but still a true statement that people thought of Locker as a number one pick even higher then Luck at that point.

That's pretty fascinating Lotus. Nerve regeneration in general is fascinating.

...it's really, really hard not to root for Manning on at least some level IMO.

I agree, he's by far my favorite non-redskins player in the history of the NFL. Ultimately I think he will be considered a transcendent player, that altered the course for QBs in the future.

I hate to be "that guy," but if he were to sign with the Skins I think I'd get one of those new nike jerseys that day (so long as they're out)

To me he is a Colt and always will be; it will weird to see him differently. Like Montana as a Chief.

It's within the realm of possibility that he could play for another 5 or 6 years. He's had a year off and takes impeccabale care of his body. Given his injury, if we signed him we'd need someone decent backing him up, but I would think if his neck is ok, manning would want to play for more than just a couple more years.

He's got one great year left in him if that and that year might not even be this year. It's very possible he could go the way of Favre. Started out great with the Jets, injuries started to get the best of him he failed down the stretch. Came back with Minnesota, got a little healthier, had a career year then the following year injuries got the better of him.

Either way Mannning is a band aid with a very short shelf life. 3 years tops if everything goes perfect.

Your right, but lets drink from the half full glass and think that since he's better then anyone even at 60% then add in the fact we only lost some of our games by 7 points or less he would easily get us into the play offs. However part of our problem was not QB play but instead WR and TE play with dropped balls and tipped balls which were INT. So if we can bring in a couple really good WR's, and PM, this team should do a lot better in it's own division with trying to make the playoffs.

Now we all know the we should settle for nothing less then SB but getting to the playoffs would go a long way in keeping MS/Allen and staff and the consistancy this organization needs to get better.

The thing I've learned over the past few years is that every season is different, well except for us in terms of the end result but thats another story. Still the point is we can't really expect those 7 point games to be there next year. It's a nice footnote to fall back on but I mean this time last year I thought Ryan Torain was going to continue to be a beast when healthy, I was dead wrong. I also thought a healthy Landry would dominate, wrong again. I also never imagined the 49ers doing what they did.

I will say this. I think with RG3 the running game alone will be much improved. I'm a broken record on this now but when you have a QB with RG3's running ability running bootlegs off handoffs the cutback lanes break wide open.

On top of that as Matty pointed out we just need a QB in the passing game that won't be good for two turnovers a game. RG3 at the very least can be that as a rookie and possibly more I mean this is a guy that after 3 games had more TD's then incompletions.

I believe that with Griffin at QB we can be a viable playoff contender in our first year. I mean it was after all a successful running game and strong defense that allowed the Falcons to get to the playoffs with Matt Ryan (whose line the previous year gave up more sacks then any team in the league) so why not us?

And then I completely agree with this one.

I guess i wouldnt be too upset if we got RG3 or Manning, but RG3 does seem to be the shinier and sparkly newer toy.

wrong, completely disagree. Manning could play until he is 40 or 41, and that is 4 or 5 years. If anyone could do it, it is Peyton Manning.

And I cant wait to see the highlights of him tearing it up with a chip on his shoulder the size of Mt Everest.
