Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

My ideal 1st and 2nd round draft choices to get some fire power on offense:

Round 1: Robert Griffin III Baylor
Round 2: Jeff Fuller Texas A&M or Juron Criner Arizona

I am impressed with both those receivers and think they are worth 2nd round picks. The are both 6'4 220 pounds and can go get the ball. The more I see and read about RGIII the more impressed I am. He has a really strong arm and can move.

RGIII
Helu
F. Davis
C. Cooley
Hankerson
Fuller/Criner
Moss

With these guys at the skilled positions next year we would have a chance to really start to grow as an offense. HTTR!!! 2012 is finally going to be the year we see drastic improvements.

After those picks the areas of need I think are the highest are O-Line, CB, ILB

I disagree. WR is a need, but CB and MLB are greater needs for this team. Plus Fuller has been disappointing (hasn't had a 100 yard receiving game this year) Criner is good because of Foles, but is often injured and is eerly similar to hankerson.

Dont'a Hightower or Janoris Jenkins or Jayron Hosely would be better picks in the 2nd than him...keep in mind we're on pace to have a high second round pick...

I wouldn't have a problem with Hightower and Hosely, those are solid selections. I do not want Jenkins. I want a team full of Kerrigans and bring the lunch pale type guys.

But our offense is just so bad, I feel like our 1st two rounds are needed to get some talent that can make some plays. Fuller has 32 career TD's and Criner has 29, it would be nice to have some guys that have potential to score. You can't penalize a receiver for having a good quarterback, most good receivers have good qb's. I also wouldnt mind getting McNutt from Iowa either, he is a big receiver too and has made a lot of plays when I have seen him play this season (wow just looked at his stats 65 Catches - 1089 yards).

We have so many needs though I'm not against quality players at any position besides TE that will help our team. I'm also looking forward to getting Jarvis Jenkins back, he seems like he will be a solid player, hope the recovery is going as scheduled.

If we were able to get RG III I would consider the whole draft a success regardless of what way they choose to go w/ the rest of the picks.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

OL, OL, OL.

we don't need WRs, what we've got is fine. We DO need to keep our QB from getting killed and that includes injury insurance. we could use a starting OG, RT and a swing starter. the ONLY thing we should opt out of OL for is a QB.

any time you see average RBs or WRs or QBs doing well, it's probably because they can keep their uniforms clean.

moss/gaffney/hankerson/armstrong/davis/cooley will be fine, even if we lose a TE to free agency. very few WRs are randy moss like in production, especially year 1.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

in my eyes we need so much both of you guys are right. QB in the first round is a must though i feel unless none of those juniors come out then I would think about it. But i agree a receiver, olinemen, ilb if riley doesnt work, a cb, possibly a safety if laron bails on us. Still alot of question marks out there. But i agree I really like RGIII. He seems like a new breed, a remarkable freak athlete who is also extremely accurate and smart and bright and hard working. I think he is going to be special and would love to see him in the B&G. (if he comes out) my fingers are already crossed

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

Ok maybe I'm the only idiot that does not understand why on earth the Skins would even entertain the thought of making a deal for or trading for P.Manning?

I sit back wondering what idiot would take the deal with the understanding he is the QB when he can't even get on the F-ing field right now and because of his diagnosis more then like won't be able to play for fear of being paralyzed if hit the wrong way. Other then hiring him to coach the QB's I see no reason to bring in another aged, washed up QB here who also will take time to learn the play calls and probably would be no more effective then a rookie drafted to play.

Bringing him in to coach- a steal

Bringing him in to play- idiotic

Thats a whole different topic.... "IF" Manning was still able to play and worth anything on the field.... why would they be stupid enough to trade him?

If they are looking to trade him or they cut him then he's washed up. Just like McNabb. No way a team who's had a QB for that long and has been taken to the SB by said QB will cut ties unless he's washed up or atleast is washed up to them.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

Can anyone remember.....anything meaningful about the Colts between Baltimore and Peyton Manning? Yea....I can't either
Do the right thing...even if it costs you a buck or two. He retires a Colt. He has proven he is the heart of that team and nothing could prove it more than their current season. He built that team.
Do the right thing....

I remember Dickerson, and then the Harbaugh team a little, AFC runner up in 95-6 I think. But yea, not much else.
