Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
here we go again. we dont need to trade for CJ and give up our high round draft picks. this has been our problem in the past. and on top of that he is going to want a big new contract. lets build this team through the draft. sign a lesser named FA big target WR. we need a young DE's OL's. i would care if we spent on 2nd round pick drafting a WR. but please dont make the tradeand give up all our draft picks

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
I'd love to have CJ, I just don't like what we'd have to give up to get him. Without a doubt he would enhance our offense, but those DP's are gold and I don't like the idea of giving them up when we have more pressing needs in other areas.
CJ has a rather strange character make-up but I'd take him if he came at a resonable price.........I just love having those DP's |

Also a lot of you are fogetting that the best DE's and OL are found either at the top of the first round or in the second and third round. Guys like Strahan, Elvis, Jared Allen, Osi, Aaron Kampman, Jason Taylor, Justin Tuck,Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Adewale Ogunleye, Derrick Burgess were all picked after the first round. With the OL the general feeling is get an elite LT at the top of the first round and the rest of the OL in the second, third and fourth rounds. Thats why guys who might be one of the top 10 players in the draft like Ryan Kalil end up in the bottom of the second round. The question here is do we get away giving up just a first round pick or a first and third? However CJ will be a Redskin, at this point its only a matter of time.

I have an answer to CJ's question. "How do you stop 85?" Answer: You send him to Washington. DAMN!

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
I would not mind seeing CJ here but it not worth a first round pick IMHO. It is time we use the draft to build our club through the draft and not players like CJ who want to come to Washington for the money.

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
my
...He's no doubt got a big mouth...but for the most part he's fun loving...he doesn't get into too much trouble and I don't see him as all that much of a cancer. The situation in Cincy seems to be more about him wanting to be on a winning team. If we can get him without overpaying I say go for it. He certainly can't do any worse than the other overpaid receiver we got wearing #85 right now...

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
If this happens, Snyder has not learned at thing!
The washington post reported that it would take a 1st and 3rd or two second round picks for Johnson. If feel that it would be better to draft two receivers than pay big money to a receiver over the age of thirty. I understand that he puts up great numbers, but that is with Palmer and the Bengals offense and how much longer can he keep it up. Let's build for the future and not just next season

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
It's not just about Chad Johnson being a top flight receiver. It's about managing our team salary cap. Do we want to trade our draft picks for Chad Johnson? I don't want to do that - I would rather us develop our own players. Should we break the bank to sign him, forcing us to keep converting other players' salaries to signing bonuses, and lving a debt laden,"credit card" based way of living outside our means? I don't think so. Would we be kind of giving up on Santana Moss? How many free agents can we sign for one position (wide receiver)? Is our problem really lack of talent at the wide receiver position? I will buy that we need a taller receiver somewhere on our roster, but not that we have to go out and mortgage our future on one player now.

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G
Guys check this out, I found this at a Bengals Message Board
LOL, are you ****ing kidding me!?! There are a few players that are untouchable on this team as it relates to trades, that is short of offering a guy like Peyton Manning. They are - Chris Cooley - Chris Samuals - Laron Landry Those are the three players that would be the hardest to trade for IMO
