Gotta agree, Rex definitely doesn't have a great arm, he never has. His long balls tend to hang or come up short. He's ok on the short to intermediate stuff.

God do they hang up - I dont think he ever hit a wr deep without the wr having to stop or come back to the ball making it in effect a jump ball...........drove me nuts - Moss, or Armstrong would have five steps on the corner and the ball just wouldnt get there. ugggh. As a matter of fact THAT is what I want to see offensively out of the Skins vs. Bills - one deep ball thrown to a wr who catches it in stride and takes it in..........a la.... Brad Johnson to Albert Connell - that is the last time I remember seeing it. lol

Yeah, I have never been this excited to see a Redskins offense.

Kyle/Mike have some decisions to make about whether/how much to show of the new stuff.
Personally, I would err towards not showing any of the new stuff that involves Griffin running.
(a) The surprise factor would be diminishesd and (b) right now the OL is kinda a mixed bad right now and some of the zone-read stuff is dependent upon good protection; don't want to see Griff take any unnecessary hits.

But they could still use the run elements of the new concepts.
For example they could calls some designed RB runs from the pistol and shotgun.

I dont think that there is a surprise factor when it comes to Griffin scrambling. He's gonna do it at some point, the teams know and I think expect that, but even at that point, whatever team he does it against is prolly gonna get burnt. Just got to show him slides of Michael Vick and newton not sliding, and teach him to do it EVERY TIME unless he is going to the house.

I was talking about the new features of the offense i.e. zone-read that involve Griff as a runner or run threat; not talking about Griff scrambling which I agree will be no surprise.

RG3 is smarter than Vick and Newton - he will slide when he has to. Im as excited about the brain in this kids head as I am about his physical attributes -we are talking the whole package here folks.......

Case in point. That terrible pass on the first play from scrimmage against the NYG in week 15 that was intercepted. Grossman has a gross deep ball.

Yes, he's smart but he's also used to scoring TDs and winning. I hope he does learn to protect himself at the pro level. In college, he went around, past or over defenders. As Cam Newton learned from London Fletcher, that doesn't always work in the NFL.

We hope Griff will slide when he has to but he has to prove it.
In college Griff was fearless/reckless often going through or over defenders.
Newton, even at Auburn was very smart about when and where to take contact and he carried it over in the NFL.
Vick on the other hand has yet to display this discretion.
With Griff time will tell.

I wonder what Donovan Mcnabb is saying now about how the Shanahans don't tailor their offense to the QBs skillset
