Pointless up until Sun. and if Beck comes out and plays no better then it's no longer pointless. I'll tell you what, most likely I'll be here while watching the game or what ever game thread for the day they have here. "IF" Beck lights it up and is 100% better I'll be the first to say "touche', I was definitly wrong." However my arguement is not about which QB is better as it is more Beck will not do any better based off of our receivers and what their not getting done. |

Now some people say "What he did in Chicago doesn't matter". BULLSHIT!! Imagine the following: There is a man that has just gotten out of jail, after serving 25 years for multiple murders. The community is divided. Side A is protesting on his front lawn. They are saying "He's a murderer, lock his ass back up". Side B, his supporters, are saying "He served his time, give him another chance to be a productive member of society". Now, side A has clearly judged this man prematurely, he could very well have turned his life around, found Jesus in a water stain, or any other manner of redemption. It's logical to be cautious around this man because of his past, but it's not fair to assume that he is going to hurt someone, or something. But then...dun dun dun!!! He kills again. There is no question that we need to put his ass under the prison, and never look back. This murderer is Rex Grossman, except he doesn't kill people, he kills drives; and he's been doing it for as far back as I can remember. We all hoped that he'd turned over a new leaf. We saw him with his Bible (Playbook), he was saying all the right things, and doing all the right things. Even had an endorsement from the man upstairs (Kyle Shanahan, see what I did there?) but there was something under the surface there, where you could just tell that it was only a matter of time before he killed again. None of us wished this, we just saw it coming. What I don't understand is how many more drives half to die at his hands before the rest of you are convinced. Please forgive the long, drawn out, serial killer metaphor. But you gotta admit, it was pretty damn good. I don't have the energy to keep it up. |

Re: John Beck Era Begins
I think we will move the ball better with Beck, but we now have issues with the O line, which makes the move to Beck even more sound. Who knows, he may surprise us and be an effective QB.

Re: John Beck Era Begins
I think Beck will give us a much better shot at 8-8 than Rex in a heart beat. Rex isn't inconsistent anymore, he is consistently BAD now. I just hope Hightower is in good shape, so we can run the ball more against Carolina. They have a crappy run defense.

Re: John Beck Era Begins
His game against the Giants was a pretty damn good one.

21-34 for 61.8% 305yds 2td's and a fumble........i'd take that all day with Rex and about any other qb we have had in the past 15 years. So, maybe it is great........lol Last edited by Gtothearry; 10-22-2011 at 04:33 AM. |

Re: John Beck Era Begins
At least Beck is mobile. All the Eagles had to do was stack the box and force Rexy to throw the ball. As soon as he started getting pressured, he crumbled. At least with Beck, he can take off and run or buy time for receivers to get open. He gives us a much better chance to win than Rexy. Thank God we only signed Rexy to a one year deal lol
