Just because someone decides to use a descriptive term (in this case a medically descriptive term that was not created to be an insult) as an insult doesn't invalidate the term or definition. The correct term to use for someone who actually is mentally retarded is mentally retarded. Challenged doesn't accurately medically describe the condition - mentally retarded does (People also like to use challenged for any number of disabilities - wrongly imo). What are you going to do when the word "challenged" is used as an insult (heck it already is being used that way)? Insist it be cancelled and move onto a new word??? That's insane.

When do you all think brains are fully developed? 25ish seems to be an agreeable age for generic purposes (not just here, but in general). But it seems like depending on the topic, the needle can move.

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever

@ddale8
I asked Greene’s office last night about her tweet blaming the Biden administration for these deaths in 2020 under Trump. Spokesman Nick Dyer responded by saying lots of people have died from drugs under Biden and “do you think they give a fuck about your bullshit fact checking?”

@ddale8
I also gave Greene congressional spokesman Nick Dyer an opportunity to comment regarding Greene’s multiple false claims yesterday about the 2020 election, such as the lies that Trump won Georgia and that there were thousands of dead voters there. His response: “Fuck off.”

Damn I hate when the media trumpet's Basil Cell cancer like it is a major story. Anyone venture to guess what would have happened to Biden if his cancer was never treated/removed? Hint - not much. The next person Basil Cell kills will be the first.

Bill Maher asked Bernie Sanders to explain the differences between ‘equality’ and ‘equity’

Bernie was left dumbstruck

Weird way to say Chico was right when I said Fetterman was mentally unfit for office and didn’t have the stamina to serve the folks of Pennsylvania.

But thanks!

Even if absolutely nothing comes out of the Dominion lawsuit, I am thoroughly enjoying what Carlson, Hannity, Ingraham/etc. think about Trump in private.

What a hot mess Faux news is, and the fact their hosts are still straight up lying to everyone every night is simply amazing. Do these people have any morals at all? Seriously don't know how they sleep at night. Tucker is basically a national security threat with the way he's downplaying and spinning Jan 6.

They are representative of the new corporate America. Prosperity of the brand is more important than prosperity of America.

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever

Republicans and Child welfare......or not.

https://news.yahoo.com/sarah-huckabe...170820213.html

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Paves Way for Child Labor Exploitation

The law means the state will no longer have to verify the age of children under 16 before they take a job, which means 14- and 15-year-olds would be able to work without a special permit. The state’s Republican-controlled Senate voted 24-9 last Thursday to send the bill to the governor’s desk. “There is no reason that anyone should have to get the government’s permission to get a job,” said state Sen. Clint Penzo, who sponsored the bill.

The new law comes as the Biden administration promised to crack down on child labor violations days after a New York Times investigation exposed the extent to which migrant children are employed in dangerous jobs across the United States. Child labor violations have quadrupled since 2015, according to data from the Department of Labor.

Arkansas isn’t the only state that wants to make it easier for employers to hire children. Iowa, Ohio, and Minnesota are also considering bills that would loosen restrictions. The bill in Iowa would allow 14-year-olds to work in meatpacking plants. The Department of Labor announced last month that Packers Sanitation Services had paid $1.5 million in fines for illegally employing over 100 children to clean meatpacking plants on overnight shifts.
